Has anyone been to Seattle and/or Vancouver?
We're planning a trip this summer to Vancover, BC. and also contemplating stopping off in Seattle for a couple of days first.
We'd like to stay on Vancouver Island in Victoria and right in the heart of Seattle for our visit. Looking for nice places to stay and things to "not miss" in either place. We love the outdoors so hiking all around Vancouver Island is definitely at the top of our list of things to do.

I’ve been to Victoria a few times for work. I loved the island and my son also really loved it. He wants to move to Canada because of that visit. I preferred staying at the Grand Pacific Hotel. I did stay at the Marriott Inner Harbor, that hotel was nice as well.
I don’t remember the restaurants, may have to have to get back to you but the Poutine and Cheese curd fries were phenomenal. I would go back just for them. We did the water taxi around the island and it was cool way to sight see. I always took the short plane ride from Seattle to save time but I heard the ferry is such a pretty ride. There is also the Seaplane.
I haven’t been to Seattle in years but it’s a beautiful city. I want to take my son and DH there. There’s a lot to do, especially beautiful hiking and nature walks.

Thanks so much! 
I'm so excited to go, I've wanted to see that region for as long as I can remember. The kids are finally both old enough to do a trip like this and enjoy it so I think it'll be great.

I went with friends in August 7 years ago and sailed the San Juan islands. It was so beautiful. I wish I could remember where we went, we camped one night on the beach and hiked the island, it was amazing. I txt my friend who lives in Seattle to ask her where we went, hopefully she answers but she's horrible at keeping in touch so she may not answer LOL
