Agreed. I really didn't think justice would be served, I started crying when they read the verdict. I was crying for George Floyd's family. The thought of watching one of my children cry out for me on national television and knowing that I was the last person he wanted as he was being killed. I have chills. May that monster rot in jail.

GUILTY ON ALL THREE CHARGES
Chauvin had almost 20 complaints in his file. Two that ended in disciplinary action. He was known to act overly aggressive towards black guests at the nightclub he bounced at. He also pinned a 14 year old with his knee back in 2017. And Tax evasion..
And now he finally has to face justice.

I couldn't agree more!! I love seeing justice be served. I'm definitely surprised he was found guilty on all three counts, you just never how things like this will go as there have been so many injustices across this nation against minorities. I'm glad Chauvin will rot in jail, he's getting what he deserves.

It says something about these types of police - involved trials that people can be surprised. It doesn’t seem real. All those protests really worked. We are getting closer to how things should be.

The roots of all of this run deep and there is a lot more that needs to change but this definitely augurs hope and a step in the right direction.

The worst was seeing a FB friends status after the verdict...it said "disgusting!!".
Are there really people who think that this man getting convicted today is disgusting?!? What?!?
Today was a start- but man oh man, this is not enough to heal this nation. There is so much more to do.

I’d unfriend. You can tell a lot about peoples character and where their heart is in response to this…
I keep putting on Fox news, and they keep going to different cities and saying there are protests. people are simply in the street. They are basically foaming at the mouth hoping for some sort of riot… But there isn’t (and hopefully there won’t be).

sadly, there is one person in my circle who continues to say that george floyd only died because he was a junky and had drugs in his system.
luckily, i only have to see this person in those few-and-far-between family functions that are so well attended that you can only share a two-minute conversation with them... if that. i believe this person will only get a smile and a not from me at these events from now on.

not sure if anyone noticed... there was a moment when he was standing, after the verdict was read, that he was already putting his hands behind his back to be handcuffed. the judge asked them to sit for more info and then he got up and was handcuffed.
the moment while he stood there ready for it to happen... that was my favorite part. he hadn't even been told, but he was already assuming the position.
i hope they don't hurt him in prison.
i want him to be healthy for a long time. i want him to live with this for many, many years.

For me, FB is a place for fun, sharing news with friends, things like.
I had to unfriend several people yesterday for things they said about the outcome of the trial. I was disgusted by the vile things they said (and they truly believe this cop was innocent) . They were people I don't normally communicate with, just fringe acquaintances- so good riddance to them.
