I used my colander and pushed it through with a wooden pestle (a kitche spoon would also work)

you would also use your blender.

We used a food mill a lot. I think it was about $35. It was really great for sweet potatoes and uncooked fruit like pears and mangoes.

You don't need a food processor. I bought a Cuisinart Hand/Stick Blender specifically for making my DS' food and it worked amazing. I really liked it. It also brought a food processor attachment and wisk attachment. I paid less then $40 for it I think. I got it at BedBB with a 20% coupon. I've made all of DS' food and it has served me well.

I make all of DS's food and 99% of the time I just use the Magic Bullet. SOOOOOOO easy, very little mess to clean up.

I wish I listened to my mom about getting this. She makes DS some food at her house with it, and it rocks for baby food. So small, so easy, you can just put a cover on the batch and do another one.

I've been using my food processor, but I used to a lot of cooking so I had it already. I think I would use the colander trick Ophelia recommended if I didn't have it. Its very similar to how you push food throw a food mill.
