Getting concerned **Update**
DH has been sick for almost a week now. Started last week with just a sore throat. Nothing crazy so figured allergies. He's also in construction so gets run down or when he does demo work he gets a scratchy throat.
Around Friday he was feeling a bit worse and lethargic. Saturday morning was tired and said his throat was so sore so I had him go to the instadoc by us. He never had a fever.
She put him on amoxicillin and said lungs were clear. Just red throat and one ear a little red.
The next day he wasn't feeling any better so I sent him back and told him to take the test. The doc said she doesn't think it's covid, but gave him the test. It takes 72 hours to get results.
It's day 4 on the meds and he seems a bit better, but not 100%. I'm starting to get concerned. He's really been so good about social distancing. We don't go out in public, all food is delivered and we have been with friends, but only outside and we don't touch each other's food or anything.
Any ideas what it could be? We find out the results tomorrow so will feel better after (fingers crossed). Still never had a fever. Just sore throat, a little achy and tired. He's a big baby when he gets sick anyway and me and the kids are around him and perfectly fine.
**UPDATE**
Good news is it was negative, but he still isn't 100%. Sure it could be the man-cold. LOL I just don't know, but he definitely is more lethargic and still has this lingering sore throat even after being on meds and steroids.

could be anything.Even covid but he may just be having mild symptoms.
Could also just be a cold maybe strep or ear infections but I would assume if is those the antibiotics would be helping.

I used to get sick a lot before i got my immune system in check and I would have symptoms like that all the time
Even a common cold would give me a sore throat so bad I swore I had strep and I'd have body aches and feel like crap. From a cold.
I have had viruses that knocked me out worse than the flu but that weren't the flu.
So many things could cause symptoms like that.
Did they test him for strep?
If he's not coughing or short of breath I doubt it's anything to be too concerned about

I wanted to add if you are concerned about coivd I get that but I wouldnt stress it. Not everyone will have complications or will be that bad.
He does sound that he is starting to get better and if it is, hopefully it stays mild!

I personally would not be concerned. People have always gotten mysterious viruses. It happens. I would do exactly what I've always done, and that's stay home and rest until I feel fully recovered.
But if you think he has covid your whole family should be quarantining until you get his results back.

Could be anything. Many covid patients are coming in for suspected appendicitis and they get swabbed for covid anyway coming in and it’s COVID, nothing to do with the appendix. Everyone has such different symptoms. Some people never get fevers. It really varies by person. I wouldn’t worry about what it is, I would worry more about symptoms. Biggest thing is breathing and response to stimuli. You can check his oxygen by a pulse O2. Sometimes people can breath fine but so have low oxygen (not to scare you this is pretty rare). If he gets worse take him to the ER but even if it is COVID, it could be mild. So many people do recover so if he’s not getting worse I would just monitor him and keep you guys separated.
If it makes you feel any better, My family has been in strict lock down since March. My 3 year old had a very high fever and lethargic. I freaked out because I work in the hospital and can bring anything home. He was tested and it was negative for COVID and everything else. Just some random thing that who knows where it came from

First off men act like big babies when they are sick, so he probably is making you crazy. I can’t even have an allergy attack without my DH freaking out and thinking I have Covid. According to him, he’s had it like 7 times. Any headache, tummy ache or sore throat he says he’s getting it. 
Try to be calm and wait for the results. If worse case he does have it, it seems like he is getting better. There are a lot of assumptions right about long term effects, I would take it day by day right now. They really aren’t sure of a lot, rightfully so. I think half the sh!t doctors, epidemiologists and professional are saying right now should NOT be said since they aren’t sure.
God forbid he is positive. Try not to beat yourselves up and think it was that one trip to the store that caused it. You will go insane. My DH has also been working this whole time in construction, was exposed twice and had a job shut down. My cousin just tested negative after being exposed to someone in his job and they shut the office down. Like any virus, sometimes you get sick and sometimes people have a better immune system.
I hope he feels better. Take it easy and have a glass of wine!

He has a sore throat and some aches. I would not be concerned AT ALL. It sounds like he is acting like a baby to be completely honest. Unless he is having trouble breathing, no reason to be concerned.

Our pediatrician just told us that strep is going around. Sounds more like that than covid. Since she gave him antibiotics and he's feeling a little better, I doubt it's anything viral because the antibiotics wouldn't help a virus.
I tend to get sinus infections when I'm exposed to a lot of dust or any type of irritant. So cleaning anything I've neglected for a while will almost always lead to a sinus infection for me. Your DH could be similar. Luckily that is also treated with antibiotics because it's not viral.

LOL- I feel like that every day of my life during allergy season and since getting into my 40s to be honest. Sore throat and aches.

Thanks and YES.. he's a big baby when he's sick. Ugh! I think he's making himself more crazy and making me crazy too.
I am fine, my kids are fine and he probably is fine too. I tell him my boy's aren't big babies like him when he's sick. They listen to me and never sick more than a couple of days. He never listens to me so he's on his own.

Until you get results, you don't know whether its the virus or not. It affects everyone differently. I had a sore throat and fatigue in March, I was convinced I had as I was taking the subway recently and had attended multiple mass gatherings in NYC the week prior. My symptoms came on suddenly and lasted 5-7 days. Tested negative in early April.
It would be prudent to still limit contact with anyone outside your personal bubble though, even if results are negative for a few days - as there have been some instances of false negatives.

Allergies are really bad right now, I know i have a sore throat daily, congestion in the mornings, red eyes...not covid...

I don't want to alarm you, but my dh and ds had covid and those are VERY similar symptoms to how my dh's started. Sore throat lasted a week or so, then the fever (not even that high, like 101.5), lethargic. They both had a mild case. Just have a game plan if it does come back positive. Crossing my fingers for him!

Thank you for this. How long did it last and are they back to themselves now? How long did they quarantine?

My husband was sick a total of about three weeks. He quarantined upstairs in our home but my son ended up getting it about two weeks after him, then he quarantined in his room. They both stayed there until they were 7 days symptom free (without pain reliever). Both are back to themselves.
I was designated cook and food deliverer to both and did not show symptoms at all. When it was all over I went for an antibody test and it was positive. So I was asymptomatic. My 20 year old daughter confined herself to her room and never got it. Tested negative three times and had a negative antibody test. Go figure.

No worries! They did not have to go back and be retested, they were just advised that per CDC guidelines they could resume normal activity after 7 days symptom free. They did not get antibody tests. I did because I suspected I may have had it being in such close proximity. Antibody test is a blood draw and took exactly 48 hours.

i know people that had COVID and never had a fever. they were ill though. hoping whatever it is goes away and he feels much better
