For those that had gained 50+ lbs during pregnancy..

Did it actually all come off? Is it still coming off?

Pre-pregnancy, it was so hard for me to loose 10..I can't believe the Everest I have ahead of me.

I gained 58 with Emma and lost all but 11 22 months later when I got pregnant with Jeremy. The first 40 were easy...

I gained 50 pounds. Some of it came off quick the first 2-3 weeks...but to finally get the rest of the weight off...took about 8 months.

I gained 60 with DD.

I lost 30 during the first 2 weeks.

I've gradually lost 15 more w/o dieting, etc.

I'd like to lose 10 more pounds...I just need to start walking more and stretching (those things are usually key to me losing weight.)

I gained 60. The first 30 came off after 3 weeks. I'm still working on that stubborn other half. I'm 9 weeks pp.

Re: For those that had gained 50+ lbs during pregnancy..

I gained 50 + w/both pregnancies. I still can't believe it because I didn't think I was eating that much. I think some people just naturally gain. In any event, it took about 9 months to lose after Delaney. With Peyton, I joined weight watchers 2 weeks after she was born and I lost almost all of it in 3 1/2 months.

Don't stress yourself over it. It takes 9 months to come on, give yourself at least 9 months to get it off.

I gained right around 50... about 35lbs came off within the first 2 weeks. That was awesome. The last 15 are coming off verrrry slowly. But it's my own fault for not keeping up with working out.

I gained about 50 lbs. I highly recommend breastfeeding b/c I think that is what helped me get back in shape so quickly. (Of course, it has other non-selfish advantages too!!) Chat Icon

Re: For those that had gained 50+ lbs during pregnancy..

I gained 50+ lbs with DD, i lost 10 immediately after her birth, a total 35lbs by the time she was 2 month old. i lost another 10 lbs after i stopped bf'ing. The rest took months to come off, I was 5 lbs away from pre preggo weight at the beginning of october when i became pg again. So i was in my pre-preggo clothes when dd was 4-4.5 months old.

I don't think i lost weight quicker because of bf'ing, i think it actually kept in on and harder to lose since i lost 10lbs in a month when i stopped.

I think my eating habits, only eating veggies, and healthy food and exercise made it come off.

So far with this pg, i am 7 weeks and only gained 1 pound, with DD i was up by 4-5 lbs already.

Re: For those that had gained 50+ lbs during pregnancy..

I gained 52 pounds with Bella. 25-30 came off within two months...I lost an additional 30-35 since then and at one year PP was a few pounds below Pre-pg weight and now I think I am around 8-ish below at 15 months PP...

I don't weigh myself much...I do know that I am one full size smaller than I was before I got PG.

Re: For those that had gained 50+ lbs during pregnancy..

I gained 55lbs and was down 30lbs in the first 2 weeks. I lost another 15lbs over the next 2 months and I'm assuming I'll hold onto these last 10lbs until I stop bf although I actually hope to keep the weight since I started out underweight

As long as you start trying to loose the weight by walking/workouts by 3-4 months post partum I can almost guarantee by that baby's 1 year you will be real happy with the results!

I lost the first 30 or so pretty fast then stalled out until I stopped breastfeeding then it took a good 9 months to be about 98% feeling great about my body and by 1 year I'm 110% happier then I was pre baby!

Remember 9 months on, 9 months off and as Dh kept reminding me the bulk of my weight didn't show up till the end so that honestly I had to atleast mentally give myself 8-9 months.

I gained 45lbs and lost 35lbs by my 6 week pp visit (30lbs probably by 2 weeks, nobody believed me that I had just had a baby) then I gained some weight back and when I found out I was pg with my 2nd 6 months later I had 20lbs to go.

Re: For those that had gained 50+ lbs during pregnancy..

I too gained 75lbs with Kaylee and she is a year and all of it is gone, and then some. I lost a lot 35lbs when she was first born and then by the time she was 4 months old i had dropped another 20. The last 20lbs was the hardest to lose. Good luck.

Re: For those that had gained 50+ lbs during pregnancy..

I gained just about 50lbs and I lost all of it and a few more by his first birthday party. And I kept losing a bit here and there. Now of course I gained a few back, oops! Chat Icon

Anyway, for me it's NOT easy to lose weight, but it did come off and that was just on weight watchers and daily walking...

I did vow to myself that I will NEVER EVER let myself gain as much when/if I get preggo again! Chat Icon
