For those refinancing-how long of a rate lock? cost?
I think DH and I will refinance our mortgage. If you are doing them same now, how long of a rate lock are you taking? Are you paying for it...could you tell me how much?
I know this is good to do but I have so much anxiety over making the right decisions!

We did a 45 day rate lock and it cost us a 1/2 point.
We figured that if we needed to we'd pay for the extra 15 day extended lock rather than pay for it right off the bat. We get the initial rate lock $$ back, but not the extended money.
