For those at age 34-35 who are trying to conceive

My doctor explained to me that if I become Pregnant this year that an Amnio test will be offered to me. It's a personal choice I understand but, how many of you think that it's really important to have this test done? I understand amniotic fluid is taken to test for abnormalities am I right? This test is also offered to women who are in their "Advanced Maternal Age" ? My doc says it's sounds bad to put it that way, but it's really not at all.

I am TTC #2, my son is 9 months old
I turned 35 about 6 weeks before he was born and I chose NOT to have the amnio, because my numbers for all the other tests were very good

I am pretty certain that i WILL have it this time around though.

I'm 35, going to be 36 in February, I have 2 kids already, 12 & 2. I don't think I'm going to have it done. Whatever will be will be.... I didn't have it before i'm not having it now, Plus women are getting pregnant and having babies so much later in life now... what's the difference, from 2 years ago when i had my son??
