First Sippy Cup help...

I am trying to get Leah to use a sippy cup, but she just bites on the top and doesn't really know to suck it to make the formula come out.

I attached a pic of the one I bought. Does anyone have a suggestions for another one that might have worked better for their DC?

TIA!

Re: First Sippy Cup help...

Thats the one I have for DD.

It took her a while to start using it - she also was always bitting the top.

She now uses it - but also play with it too. I only put water in it - so she soaks herself with it. Chat Icon

i HIGHLY suggest the nuby cups with the straw. hannah could not drink from the one with the spout, but once i gave her the straw she loved it!

Re: First Sippy Cup help...

I used the avent starter because the sip part was rubber more like a nipple and it seemed to work and also the nuby one that is rubber the sport one she liked too because it was like a nipple and they are all at babiesrus... good luck she still wants the bottle at night and sometimes fights me in the morning..

Re: First Sippy Cup help...

I had to get Marron a few of the ones that aren't spillproof at first. The fluid just drips out and she got the idea. They sell them at BRU -- there is a deal right now -- they are by Especially for Baby. BBB also sells them by The First Years. Now she can drink from the regular no-drip ones. If you want to use the ones you've got, just take the little valve out (this didn't work for Marron but I've heard it work for some kids).
