First day at the new job

It was ok. I got there a little early, was shown where I'll be sitting and was given a tour of the place. Then was with HR to do all the first day paperwork. After the paperwork I had to watch the "sexual harrassment" dvd. I felt so icky after watching it. But it was a good thing to watch. I also watched a DVD about the company and their products. I felt so brainwashed Went over the payroll, PTO, etc...

Then given another tour of the place.

Back to my desk where I find my computer but it's the computer I had when I was at the other company. Seriously, IT called over and said we werent ready for this and dont have a computer so can we have the one she had there.

Took most of the morning for that to get set up and all the programs I needed. The cool thing is that I had some neat photo's on my computer so IT had them saved and transferred over so I can have my wallpaper and screensaver slide show up.

Lunch

and finally at 2pm I was able to go through training. It was ok. I am going to be doing daily cash reports, running reports from the banks, chargebacks, and updating quick books. It seems a little boring but busy. The good thing is I dont have to be on the phones or have to deal with angry people. I guess I cant really make a decision of if I like it or not when I was only doing it for 3 hours. But overall, so far so good

The company I am with is the sister/marketing company and they had a position available in accounting and wanted me for it. I went to them on Thursday and squared away on everything. My last day was Friday and today I started with the new company

The people are nice. They seem really friendly. I work with a male and female. The male I have dealt with before but mostly via emails so it was nice to put a face with the email. The female seemed sweet. She has some music program on her computer and offered to have it put on mine so I could listen to music. Tomorrow my boss is taking me and the other two out to lunch.

Wow! I'm really glad it happened so easily.

You mentioned boring....nothing wrong with boring after dealing with stress and insanity for a while. Enjoy it!
