That is exactly what I thought...until I heard sometimes if you test too early, the urine doesn't have high enough levels to come up on a urine test. My SIL had 4 negatives, but was pregnant....I found this insane! Don't get me wrong, DH and I would be happy, but have only been married for 3 weeks, so not necessarily something we planned....thank you for reassuring me! Good Luck to you.

No, it's the false positve that is unheard of. All pregnancy tests vary in sensitivity levels.
peeonastick.com is a great website about them.
If you tested too early or not in the AM it could be a false negative. Also, Some women, rare though, never test postive on a HPT.

False neg can happen if you test before your period is due. After you are late, you would have enough hormone to get a +
This happened to me over the summer. I had every symptom, was a week late, and negative! Eventually I got my period. It happens sometimes, especially when stressed - you just got married, that can do it!!!!!!

Yes, I took a test too early and it came up negative....something just kept telling me I was pregnant though. I took another one a week later, and it was positive!

I have only heard a false positive was unheard of.
Depending on when you test it might be too early. I took my first test on a Thursday and it was negitive. Sunday morning it was positive.

No it happens all the time - it is false positives that are almost unheard of.
Some people never test positive on a HPT. If you don't get your period in a few days you could try testing again or going to the Dr and asking for a blood test.

That isn't true at all. My BFF is pregnant for the third time (first one was a m/c) and she has NEVER had a + on an HPT.
Some people have to have a blood test.

Agreed, my mom was about 6 to 8 weeks preg. with my sister... POAS and always came up negative on HPT. Had a blood test and it was positive...

a false positive, on the other hand, usually will not happen
