Endometrial Biopsy - 7DPO
Hi ladies!
I apologize in advance for the long post!
I'm a lurker on the boards and am so grateful to all of you for all of your wonderful information.
I have a question for you regarding an Endometrial Biopsy. After charting my temps, it looks like I have Luteal Phase Defect (LPD). I talked to my doctor about it and she wants to do an Endometrial Biopsy at 7 DPO to test my progesterone levels. I'm wondering if it has to be EXACTLY 7 DPO? The way my cycles have been going, it looks like Christmas Eve or Christmas day will be the day that I am at 7DPO and the dr's office will obviously be closed on Christmas (and possibly even Christmas Eve)....can it be done earlier or later than 7DPO?
Also, do you feel as though this procedure is completely necessary? Like if I have seen that I have a short luteal phase every cycle, do you think my doctor can just prescribe progesterone suppositories without doing the procedure or does the Endometrial Biopsy give more information that I would need to find out?

There must be some reason your RE is jumping to this - I would have thought they would have did a blood test to determine your progesterone level. I had this done but I don't remember what day.

She told me that the blood tests aren't as accurate as the endometrial biopsy.

Well I kind of agree with you. I've had two-one showed that I had an infection and one showed I was "out of phase" I am on progesterone and clomid for the LPD and took antibiotics for 2 months...that said I would think she coulds prescribe progesterone without the test. As tests go this is pretty easy its over VERY quickly
