Re: East Islip schools?

Good schools the only minus is the budget gets voted down every year by a group of people!!

Re: East Islip schools?

I went there and used to live in the district...taxes are a little out of hand and so are the budgets that keep getting drawn up. That is why they keep getting voted down. Chat Icon

No they don't go there. They go to West Islip schools and some even go to Bay Shore.

Re: East Islip schools?

I live in West Islip and they have their own school district separate from West Islip. The only problem with West Islip is that we have one of the highest cancer rates on Long Island, we are a huge cluster on the map. So needless to say I don't drink the water and am hoping to move out of West Islip soon.

I never knew about West Islip being a major cancer cluster. I have in-laws that live there. I wonder if they are aware of it.

Re: East Islip schools?

Well considering the house I live the woman died of cancer, then a few months after the woman across the street died. Then I come to find out that 5 out of the ten neighbors behind me have cancer of some sort 3 of them breast cancer. Then my mother is 3 blocks away and my brother was diagnosed with leukemia and the girl on the end of her block has bone cancer and then by talking to the neighbors we find out that 2 woman on the block have breast cancer. By talking to my brother's doctor he is convinced that it is the water in the area, they had a company who illegally dumped into some streams in the area and contaminated everything. My mother just found this out by doing some research. So needless to say we are all moving out of West Islip.

My brother's Doctor recommended that we do because some of the bacteria and toxins in the water only increase by heating it. Notice more and more how we are hearing about unsafe water at the beaches and also drinking water. There was a huge article in Friday's Newsday about the polluted drinking water.

I keep teasing my mom that she is the next Erin Brockovich. The company that did it was closed down.
