Anyone have this? If so, which "version" and what kind of hair do you have? (long, short, frizzy, thick, fine etc) Do you love it? Hate it? Something in between? It's big $$$$ but I'm seriously thinking about getting it but would love to hear some first hand thoughts

I want to know too. I’ve been thinking about it for awhile. I don’t know anyone IRL that has one.

I wound up buying it today. If you open a credit card at Ulta, you get 20%off your first purchase. Plus there was 10% back from Rakuten. So from $549 it wound up costing about $400 (after the Rakuten rebate) - still a lot but not as bad. I'll let you know after I have a chance to use it.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts. I've had this on my list of things to buy since it came out, but I can't seem to pull the trigger since in the videos I've watched seem to show people with long hair having a difficult time with it. My hair is just about waist length and I think I'd end up with more of a tangled mess than anything resembling a style.

I do love my dyson hairdryer though, that was definitely worth the $$. As I said, I have very long, very thick hair and it has cut my drying time in half, at least.

I tried it a bit this morning - used the blow dryer and the large curling barrel. The dryer definitely dried my hair more quickly than my usual (very powerful) dryer. I probably dried it too much - because your hair is supposed to be damp to use the curling barrels, so I used a spray bottle, but I think I still didn't dampen it enough.

Learning to use the curling attachments was pretty easy. I have long (middle of my back - to my bra strap) thick hair. You definitely have to use small sections at a time - so it can be time consuming. I like the way the curls came out, but they haven't held that well - I think that could be because my hair was not damp enough. Definitely have to play with it some more.

I'll report back after I use more of the attachments and learn how to use it better.

ETA. Tried it again last night before going out to dinner.. I used the smaller curling barrel on dry hair. In the morning I had used the slowest air setting, which I think was a mistake. Last night I used the highest air setting (speed, not temperature) and the curls came out great and lasted. And I realized on the higher speed, the hair wraps around the barrel easier. I was really happy with the way my hair came out last night

This morning I used the round brush attachment and really liked it a lot. I also have the John Frieda hot air brush and the 2 don't compare. The dyson one worked so much better. Again, I loved the way my hair came out. I think I am really going to like the dyson overall - so far, so good, for sure. And not sure if it's too soon to tell, but I do feel like it is much less damaging to my hair

Thanks so much for the detailed review! It sounds like we have similar hair, mine is just a bit longer (and tbh I'm ready to just chop it). I'm excited to hear actual real world experience from someone.

Thanks for sharing! I've been coveting this but didn't want to shell out the $ if it was crap.

One more update. I used the smoothing brush attachment this morning, on wet hair out of the shower. Again, I am very happy with it. It was very easy (and pretty quick) to dry my hair smooth and straight. And even after I went out to walk my dog, it didn't frizz at all (something that usually happens, not matter what the weather is)

If you do get one, I definitely recommend watching the Dyson videos that come up with the scan code provided in the box. They were very helpful (and they're very short and quick). I also watched a couple of youtube videos but the Dyson ones were the most helpful

Just curious, how long did it take you to dry your hair (with the attachment) with full wet hair?

I don't know how long it took, but with the actual blow dryer attachment it was faster than using my regular (2000 watt) blow dryer. With the smoothing brush attachment it was still pretty fast, but did take a little longer - but better results

Thanks. I have the Lange straightening brush which I love but it can only be used on dry hair which is annoying. I have thick hair which is almost to my waist and I have a super strong hairdryer (the Elchim 3900) so after I dry it (about 10 min), I am usually too tired to start with the Lange brush.

Dolphinsbaby - I have similar hair and I have been using the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer recently and I like it. (I wanted the Dyson but since I already have the Dyson hair dryer I was looking for an alternative to save some $...it's not even close to what I imagine the Dyson to be, but it was like $40.)
Anyway, I either let my hair air dry a bit, or I do a quick rough dry with my dryer, and then I use the Revlon dryer brush to get a blowout look in about 20 minutes. I have long, thick hair, so to get it to look that good in such a short time is a miracle. I don't have to use my straightening brush or straightener when I use this method of drying my hair. Again, it's not the dyson, but I'm relatively happy with it while I decide if the Dyson is something I NEED.

That's what I wound up asking DH for for Christmas (meaning I ordered it for myself lol). I also got a L'Ange curling wand (my birthday was Friday Chat Icon ) and OMG it's so much better than any other curling iron I've used before. I used it for less time and brushed it out and it gave me beautiful bouncy waves that actually stuck.

I have no interest in the airwrap, but have you guys seen the Dyson hair straightener? I flat iron my hair and curl the ends under almost every day and this looks like heaven!

I timed it this morning - took about 8 minutes to fully dry my hair right out of the shower, using the smoothing brush attachment. I think that's super fast lol. Normally I would dry my hair and then have to style it with a big round brush or flat iron or curling iron. It's definitely smooth enough to go out shopping or something casual like that. If I was going "out", I'd still want to style it some more
