Dying Reality Star Menaced by Hammer-Wielding Intruder

British reality star Jade Goody -- who is fighting terminal cancer -- was confronted by a woman brandishing a hammer in her hospital room on Sunday, Britain's Guardian reports.

Goody's publicist, Max Clifford, said the 41-year-old woman was able to get inside the room at London's Royal Marsden hospital when her husband, Jack Tweed, stepped out briefly around 3 p.m.

"Jack had been with her for a few hours and had gone to get a cup of tea in the canteen when this happened," Clifford said. "She woke up to find this woman leaning over her. She was not hurt but was very shaken up, as you can imagine."

The woman ran out of the room after Goody called for medical staff, and was later arrested by police.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan police told the newspaper: "We were called to the Royal Marsden hospital on Sunday 8 March due to an unknown woman being in a patient's room.

"Officers attended and arrested a 41-year-old woman for possession of an offensive weapon and took her into custody at a west London police station. On the advice of the Crown Prosecution Service the woman has been released with no further action."

The hospital refused to comment on how a woman with a hammer let herself into Goody's room. Clifford says security has been stepped up.

Goody, 27, was diagnosed with cervical cancer last August. Her doctors have said she has only weeks to live.

On Saturday, she was christened along with her two sons, Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4, in a 20-minute service at the hospital.

What is wrong with people? Only a seriously disturbed person would want to attack someon who is dying. It's absolutely disgusting

Its insane, however I have never seen more coverage on someones impending death in my life. Its kind of sick, the whole thing. She is dying and making a ton of money doing it. While I agree she is trying to safeguard a future for her children, its kind of bizarre. I feel for her, her children and her family, but I do not like her one bit.

Its insane, however I have never seen more coverage on someones impending death in my life. Its kind of sick, the whole thing. She is dying and making a ton of money doing it. While I agree she is trying to safeguard a future for her children, its kind of bizarre. I feel for her, her children and her family, but I do not like her one bit.

First off I will say I know nothing about this show. Are you saying the show is about her dying?

Why does this draw an interest to anyone?

Because her whole adult life has unfolded on television. She is a reality TV star millionaire, who has proved herself to be thick as mud, a bully, a racist, and not a nice person at all. People for some reason are interested in her. I myself watched "Jade's Legacy"on tv last night....dunno why, but I watched it. Its tragic for her family and children, but I still don't like her.
