Duggar Family Expecting Child Number 19!
Wow, all I can say is wow.
Duggar-Number 19 On the Way
I used to think they were crazy, but after seeing the Octomom and her brood, they seem pretty sane.

I feel for these kids - there is no way they can possibly be getting the attention that then need from their parents. Siblings are parenting these children. It is sad and I'm sorry, as sick as octomom. enough already!!!

Hey if they can afford it and love each other, than more power to them. They have no debt, no mortgage and the family seems very happy. It certainly isn't the norm but that doesn't make it a bad thing 
I am 1 of 7, which is far from being 1 of 19, but I LOVE being part of a big family. If we could afford it, I'd be all for having a brood of children ...although I'd probably go insane somewhere around 6 or 7 kids

I'm torn....I know they can't be giving all their kids all the attention that they need and they are very strict as far as how they dress, what they watch on tv, they don't listen to music at all.
BUT their kids are clothed and fed and seem happy.
I don't know I think they've lucked out and haven't had any kids with any health problems or anything.
I don't know.

I thought it was all about the quality of time and not quantity?
They just spent 38 days together on a bus. Some kids only see their parents an hour or 2 a day.
Jim Bob took 1/2 the kids on a missionary trip...then took the girls on a camping trip.
I come from big families, I think it makes people who are self sufficiant, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Part of my reply from the other thread on this:
My fathers side of the family are Hassidic Jews, I remember when the first child on that side of the family got married (she was 19 btw), her mother was pregnant at the wedding. It's just their way of life. There are SO many kids on that side of the family, I've lost count. My Rabbi who married us has 14 kids himself. They are a wonderful loving family. I'm not sure sure they are even done having kids. I see nothing wrong with it. For me personally.... I couldn't do it, but again, that's me and MY life.

I agree with you! I've seen specials on them, and they seem like a very happy and well rounded family. The younger children seem well behaved (and I know what we see is not always the truth)
I would never want that many kids - not even half, but (correct me if I'm wrong) I think each one was conceived naturally and the family has no debt. They're not asking for anyone to help them support their family.
I think if it works for them, thats great!

I personally couldn't imagine having that many kids, I'd go insane. I used to think they were crazy until I watched a few episodes of their show. The kids seem pretty well adjusted and happy. I think it's amazing that they can do it all without help. More power to 'em.
I don't come from a family nearly as large but I was raised with strict parents, doing chores and helping with my younger brothers. Did I hate it sometimes, yes, but I think I turned out OK and it taught me how to be responsible.

ITA...I grew up and went to school with a lot of ultra orthodox jews, I am jewish but not ultra orthodox and these kids were all taken cared of and happy and seemed like they were all getting enough attention and reveled in having tons of brothers and sister!!
Def not for me, but more powere to the ppl that do!!

Couldn't have said it better.
There is no way she can be a parent to 19 children. One person can only do so much. It's almost like they're doing it just because now.
I'm sure the siblings are forced to grow up way to fast to take care of the younger ones.

ummm hello - youve got 18 others, im pretty sure youre good at making babies! and im pretty sure you know how it happens!!
dont get me wrong - im 1 of 5 and LOVE being from a "large" family (by normal standards). its obvious that they can provide for and take care of all the children. they all seem well adjusted and loved unconditionally so GOOD FOR THEM!! but my god - GET CABLE!

i watched an episode where they explained that they WERE on BC but had a miscarriage and contributed it to that BC so they swore to never use any form or BC again. Im not sure how the BC could have caused a miscarriage BUT whatever works for them

I am glad that they are happy and as long as they have the means to provide for their children emotionally and financially I won't judge.
BUT... my uterus hurts just THINKING about this woman popping out 19 kids!
I think they should have this baby's name start with a K or something to signify the end of the line!
