Awesome!! I am so happyChat Icon

Now can I just use regular ice cube trays? I figure I can get a whole bunch at the dollar store and that would be cheaper.

You could.... I didn't tho.

Everrything that I did with her was the bpa free route.... I use the ones that are BPA free that you get at either BBB or BRU.... I make chicken or beef stock and then freeze it into cubes, and use as needed.

Is there a recipe guideline for baby food making with the bullet? I have one and I would have no idea where to start Chat Icon

no. if you are making a stage 1 food, then just steam the food that you are making.

throw it into the bullet with the 4 blade piece.

chop it for about 15 seconds.

add in liquid.... whether it be water, stock, or water stock mixture. sometimes i would even add in some formula depending on what i was making her.

then put the blades back on, and chop until you are at the right consistency.

it'll take you a couple of times of trying, but trust me... you'll figure it out no problem.

I got the Kidco food processor which looks just like the bullet. Although it's really not big enough if you're making a big batch- next time I am just going to use my regular food processor.

Seriously.... steam anything.... whatever you want to feed DC. If you are at the stage of doing veggies, then just cut it up into healthy size bits, and throw it on top of a steamer, and steam the veg for 20 minutes.

Then throw it into the M.B. and chop and add water occasionally until you get it to the right consistency.

I used the MB to make foods from Stage 1 all the way to Stage 3!

I just bought the magic bullet but I think I'm going to return it, and get the williams sonoma baby food maker, seems so much easier!

Re: Does anyone use the Magic Bullet to prepare baby food?

I guess I just don't understand what the purpose is to spend $150 on that thing at WS when the MB does a perfectly great job, at around $50 for a box that doesn't just limit you to making pureed food.....

Re: Does anyone use the Magic Bullet to prepare baby food?

eh, I'm just going to use my waring blender. It is glass, heavy duty, and will puree anything in a flash. It can do small or large quantities.

My food processor also has a mini-processing attachment bowl... I may use that too... I won't buy a special gadget just for baby food...

however, if you either already own a MB or if you don't own a blender or processor, it could be a good thing.. at least it's inexpensive Chat Icon (unlike my processor and blender!)

Re: Does anyone use the Magic Bullet to prepare baby food?

Here's my favorite magic bullet baby food recipe:

Boil chicken, carrots and small pieces of potato in chicken broth (low sodium) and water until the chicken is cooked and carrots are tender. Then toss chicken, carrots and potato in the MB w/ about a 1/4 cup of the liquid and puree for about 15-20 seconds. Sometimes if it's too loose I will add some baby oatmeal to thicken. DS loves it!

I LOVE my MB! I make smoothies for DD w/ all kids of fruits she wouldn't actually eat but will when pureed in a smoothie in the MB. I also use it to make pesto in the summer w/ fresh basil from my garden.
