Does anyone not have cable and a landline?
I am debating getting rid of the landline and cable. All my DH needs is to watch ESPN though... can I do that with some type of antenna? Also, who could I get internet from?

We're debating the same thing now. We'll still get internet from cablevision which will be $60 a month if that's the only service you buy. I don't think you'd be able to get espn from an antenna but depending on where you're located you may be able to get the basic networks.

We have cable, but no landline... the way we see it is if the cells are down then so are the landlines - they aren't the old school landlines they used to be - Remember the black out of 200X (how do I not remember what year that was!)? Nothing worked, but our landlines did.

We use an antenna and internet phone. No cable for almost 2 years. We put that money into a savings account for ds and for holiday gifts. Really don't miss it at all.

Who is your internet provider and how much do they charge for only internet?

<-No cable, no landline for about a year and half now. The only thing that sucks is sports, but now we hook our laptop up to the TV and watch it that way. All is right in the world. 
ETA: We have TWC "Turbo" Internet for $65? I don't find it to be any faster than their regular internet service.

no cable no land line for about 4 years.
we're all adults, so we each have a cell phone.
we use netflix and the internet for entertainment.

We have never had a land line and we have been cable free for about a year. We do not miss cable at all. We got Netflix, which is much less expensive than cable. We have a Chromecast so we do not even need to hook up our computers to the TV. The only cable show we watch religiously is The Walking Dead and we just buy the series through amazon.

You can hook your computer up to the tv? any sports?
i've been thinking about this but my husband says no way because of espn and sports games.

I think you can buy sports packages…Like MLB has a package that you can have every game on their website I believe. You'd have to look into though as I'm not sure if that's listening or watching.

Internet 39.99 from Cablevision
Television we use Dish
Landline we use some thingy you plug into your router and it ports your old number you want to...its like 6.00 or something miniscule like that.
