Does anyone else feel guilty for not getting their kids OUTSIDE more?

I am a SAHM and I will admit, my 2 boys(ages 1 1/2& 2 1/2) wear me out!

I know I should put a warm jackets on them and let them enoy running around outside... but I'm too lazy (and I hate the cold!)
I am embarrassed to admit that the last time they saw the outside world was Thurs morning when I took them to the mall!! Am I the worst mom ever? What do you moms do w/your younger-than-school-age toddlers to keep them busy&happy?!

Don't feel bad, I don't go out either. If we have a slightly warm day, I'll bring him in the backyard to play. Other than than...I'm not going out unless I have to.

I don't go outside either. DD#1 is 2, but DD#2 is only 7 months, so they can't run around together anyway.

As far as our day, if we have no plans on a given day, we usually do "arts and crafts" type stuff, dance party, some TV, books, blocks, and I always make sure to go to CVS or something--all day inside drives me slightly insane!

I think its imperitive that you get out of the house with the kids at least once a day! I am super lazy too, but I know that if I haul some jeans on, pull some shoes on, get my kid dressed and just even go for a walk around the block...it makes everyone feel better!

Don't feel guilty if you don't want to get out! But to stay in fromThursday to Sunday (sorry this is my opinion) thats pretty bad!!!!!!

Fresh air is good for everyone!!!

yes I do feel guilty...but honestly at this age they really won't know the difference...it's more about our sanity!

I haven't been out of the house since Wed!

However we have been busy and the house has been full of people. Friday he had a playdate, Saturday we had family and friends over so he was occupied.

I do! I do!!

DD is 1 and I work from home twice a week. It's VERY hard for me to get out on these days. I try to run an errand or go for a walk if it's not freezing during my lunch hour, but that does NOT always happen.

I know I should get DD out at least once a day, but I too hate the cold and she's not into running around the yard yet. I have to get better about this!!!

I feel guilty on the weekends if I don't take Andrew out. I work during the week so he gets out then.

I decided this weekend not to do Peapod and to actually take Andrew to the store. He loves going shopping and seeing all the people around.

this thread makes me feel guilty because I could not imagine not getting out!Chat Icon Chat Icon seriously...

I like him strapped down in the strolller, facing out. it gives me a break.

Everyday, it takes us 30 minutes to go get the mail and come back in. I let him walk it, I have to see people and get out from these walls.

It makes me feel like I have adult ADD or something.

I am the same-I go crazy if I don't get out everyday. Even if it's just a trip to get coffee or something I need to go for a ride everyday (hubby hates my gas bill-lol). BUt Jenna enjoys the rides and lately we blast Christmas music in the car and look at Christmas decorations outsideChat Icon

I don't mean that I don't take them out at all--we do go out every day. I just don't let them run around (well, Kate, anyway) outside in the cold...not because I don't want them to, but because Abby is too young to play outside anyway.
