Do you throw birthday parties the weekend before or after the actual birthday?
DS and DS#2 were born a day apart. I'm planning a joint party for them in March. Their birthdays are mid-week.
Do you book parties the weekend prior or the weekend after?
I plan to send in cupcakes to DS's preschool class the day of his birthday.

Depends
DS #1 is born around Memorial Day so we try and do it on his birthday and if it doesn't work out I'd probably do it before
DS#2 was born July 8th. Right around the 4th so most likely the weekend b4 will be the 4th. In his case I'm going to do it after (if his bday is during the week). He's only 4 months now so haven't thought of it yet.

DS is a Jan. Baby (he was born on MLK day). I try to do his party MLK weekend (usually on Saturday).
DD is a May baby. Next May, due to my nephew/Godsons Communion the day after her birthday, (OOS), then the following weekend being Mother's Day weekend, I'll be having her party the following weekend.
Actually her past 2 parties were 2 weekends later as well.
Depends on what else is going on and I work around it.
May is a busy month for us, every year! LOL

I normally round up or down according to what day of the week it falls.
If it's Mon. or Tue. then I will do it the weekend before. From Wed. on I will do after.

ive done both of DS parties before his actual birthday because on his real birthday i like it to be just us. and hes an october baby so i prefer to do it earlier so its not too cool out.

Depends, though it usually is the weekend before I guess, since my girls are born the week before July 4th so we try to avoid that weekend for the party if we can.

We had a lot of superstitious old italian women in our fam ( a lot of them have passed) but we still go along with it...we never celebrate a b day party before the actual birthday ...so we try to do it on the actual b day or the weekend after .

I do whatever is better for us. Most times one weekend is better than another but if there was no conflicts I would probably do before the actual birthday.

We generally do birthdays the weekend after if it falls during the week. But if there's something else going on then we'd move it to the week before.

DD's first birthday party was the weekend before her actual birthday (which fell on a Weds). I'd pick whichever weekend is more convenient for you and your family.

I always do DD's after since the weekend before is New Years. DS will have a conflict with Easter this year so his will be after his birthday as well.

THIS! Except I am not Italian-- but growing up this superstition was HUGE in my family-- we were never allowed to celebrate our bdays BEFORE the actual day.
My first  is due 12/16 so depending on when her birthday is I will have to be flexible and may have to break that old superstition =)

Usually this, unless there's a conflict with that weekend for some reason, then we'll move it. We're not too concerned about exactly when the party is.

DS #1's bday is 4 days after Christmas so we do his birthday the following weekend after New Years.
DS #2's bday will be 2/28 so, next year, we are going to do it the following weekend.

DS1 is always the weekend before for his family party, because the weekend after is Christmas. His kiddie party I do the beginning of December usually about 2 weeks before!
