Do you think DS hurt his hand or is it a bug bite that he might be allergic to (with pics)

DS woke up yesterday and DH took him out of his crib, got him dressed and then the 4 of us went food shopping. I didn't notice his hand until we were home, probably an hour later since DH was pushing him in the cart and I had DD.
He didn't and hasn't complained that his hand hurts him just that he said he did it in the crib and showed me what he did. I just can't imagine that he hurt his hand putting it down between the crib mattress and crib rail (that is what he said he did).
It looked like a bug bite to me so I gave him some benedryl but that didn't help and it seemed to have gotten more swollen over the day. He can move his hand and fingers fine and nothing is black and blue.
Now, my dilemma is weather I should take him to the dr. or not. The last time I brought DD for a sick visit I nearly walked out after waiting an hour before the dr. came in to check her out and they weren't really busy that day either. I decided to switch doctors and DH is suppose to fax over the release letter to them. I told him as of now.
Do you think I need to bring him? The second picture is a comparasion of his hands

It does look pretty swollen. & I personally can get pretty swollen from mosquito bites. Does it feel warm to the touch? I'm allergic to bees and I know my hand swelled up and was very warm. I needed to take something to make the swelling go down.

If those pics are from today and this was noticed yesterday morning I would call to have them check it out. I mean, if a day later and it doesn't look like it went down or less red I would call.

It does feel warm almost hot.

The pictures are from last night before he went to bed and it still looks like that.

Thanks, I will give the dr. a call and see what they say.

Are you sure he wasnt stung by a bee? DS got stung by a bee and it looked swollen and felt hot. I gave him some benadryl and it went down by the next morning.
