Do you or anyone you know have three kids?
I need some help. So my MIL has this theory that if your first two children are of the same gender then it's like a 90% chance that the third will be the same gender. And her explanation for those that had a different gender third then there must have been a miscarriage or abortion at some point. I know this sounds crazy, but I'm having trouble finding examples in real life lol.

I only have 2 right now (both boys), but I know plenty of people with 3 kids.
My best friend had

Another one of my good friends has a sister who had
And my cousin had
I think it is 50/50, just like every pregnancy

I would not give much credit to that theory. Sperm determines the sex of the baby. For each pregnancy, you have a 50% chance to have one sex or the other. I am one of five: girl, girl, boy, boy, girl. To the best of my knowledge, my mom never had a miscarriage or abortion.

Omg, complete nonsense... I have 4...
I had 2 mc's in between them all.
I know people who had 2 boys then a girl with no mc also and ones with 3 of the same sex with mc's in between,

Thanks for the responses! I know it's crazy but every time I would ask people I knew...her theory was supported and I'm like what the hell!!! I would love to hear more;)

You have a 50/50 chance each pregnancy of having a boy or girl.

I don't think it's true. My parents had with no miscarriages in between (at least none that my mom was aware of, according to her).
I have read that some men inherit from their fathers a greater likelihood of having a boy... don't know the mechanism of this but I know many examples... If a man has only brothers (all the same father), he may be more likely to have all boys... I know several examples of this. For this reason, my FIL is convinced we'll never have a girl because my DH has all brothers & no sisters. Who knows if it's true, but I'm sure there are many exceptions.

My very intelligent DH thought that too. 
We have and yes, I did have a miscarriage after DD2 (One of my very comforting friends said, "Maybe God wanted you to have a boy."   ).
Anyway, it's true that most of the people I know with three have three of the same, but I do know a few and only one had a m/c.
It's 50/50 each time, IMO.

This is my DH's family too! He's the youngest of ; his oldest brother had and his middle brother had when I gave birth to our first . My DH and I didn't find out the gender so we were screaming in surprise in the OR...figured we'd add to the boys! Would have LOVED to have seen my MIL's reaction!!

I believe every pregnancy is 50/50 shot however a lot of people I know have 3 of the same. My friend just had her 5th boy!

I don't believe that theory at all.
I know someone with four kids, tge first a girl and the next 3 all boys. Also someone with 5 kids, the first a girl and the next four all boys. I also know someone with 3 boys. And someone with 3 girls. It's really all random.

I know quite a few people with and no miscarriages in between. I also have friends who have 3 or 4 of the same sex. DH is the oldest of and his father is the second oldest of .

My friends had no miscarraiges and i had the other had and the other had . I am 1 of 7 and it is . DH is one of 5 and it is . I have .
There is no logic to what she is saying.
