Disney in March - what to pack

I'm trying to get my boys' stuff together and I really don't know what to pack. Will it be warm enough for bathing suits? Shorts or light pants?
Oh and what should I plan on wearing for the parks? All suggestions are welcome!
TIA!

Re: Disney in March - what to pack

In March it can be a little cool at night. Any time I go to Disney I pack a mix of shorts and long pants, as well as t-shirts AND hoodies. Layers are the name of the game. Keep in mind that with water rides, spills, and just long days in the park, the kids especially might need 2 outfits a day.

Typically with kids, you're going to want to go to the parks early in the morning, come back in the afternoon for a nap and/or swim and then go back in the evening when it's cooler, so shorts and t-shirt in the am, then bathing suit, then long pants and/or a sweatshirt.

If you can, find shoes that are waterproof or resistant like teva sandals or Keens. That will make it easier. I would also be sure to pack lots of extra socks and at least 2 pairs of shoes for everyone so that you can switch to reduce the risk of blisters, and if a pair of sneakers gets wt you have a backup. pack soem newspaper if you can to stick in wet shoes overnight to dry them out. Also pack moleskin and either packa scissor or pre-cut it. Bring bodyglide sticks as well. Make sure you check your kids' feet a few times a day since they might not be able to tell you and you can put on moleskin for them before they get blisters.

I think you will be able to swim in the heat of the day. It's FL. I have done swimming at night in January. Pools are heated.

Hats and sunglasses are always good.

Decide what bag you're bringing intot eh parks. I usually have a backpack because it's easy to wrap the strap around your leg on rides for added safety.

Pack some small toys and games for waiting on line and at parade. Glow stick and/or glow bracelets are a huge hit at nighttime parades and fireworks (you cna even pass them out to other kids), and they can even be a lifesaver if your kids are afraid of the dark rides. If they bring a small glow stick in, they have their own little light source. I've heard this helps a lot, and unlike a cell phone or flashlight, it won't disturb other riders.

Pack snacks to eat in the room and refillable water bottles. you can get free ice water at any counter service restaurant and it's filtered so it tastes much better than water fountains.

If you want to save money, bring cheap ponchos from home, However, we like the Disney ponchos and we use them year after year and if they rip, Disney will replace them, so we don't mind the cost. We paid $7 for them a few years ago, Im sure they're still under $10 or thereabouts.

Sunscreen of course. Suncreen wipes are a good way to carry stuff. You can bring those Purex 3 in 1 detergent sheets in case you need to do some laundry.

Thanks so much for such a thorough response!!! So much more than I asked and so helpful!
I hope you don't mind some questions since you are so well versed in Disney!
You mentioned the back pack for rides - do they allow you on with a bag? We probably will only be doing kids rides (or DH might go on some for him, I'm not a ride person) Also, do they allow you to bring in food and drink?

Unlike Universal, you can bring a backpack on all rides. For any wilder rides like rollercoasters, I wrap the strap around my leg (or have DH do it) to keep ti secure near my feet. There's always a cargo space to store items, or room at your feet. if your bag is too big, they'll just take it and hold it for you, but we just try to keep the bag reasonably small. Since you'll have a stroller, you can take 2 bagks, one with not so valuable stuff like kiddie games for rides, and a smaller one with the valuable stuff in it that you would not want to leave in/on your stroller. Another stroller hint is some people bring large blankets and tie them down over the top of the stroller when they park it. this 1) discourages stroller theft since it would be hard for someone to claim they mistook it for theirs, and they'd have to take the blanet off to snatch your stuff 2) protects your food items from birds and squirells 3) Makes your stroller easy to find.

you are allowed to bring in food at drink with 3 caveats

1) NO alcohol at MK park (I don't think you can actually bring in alcohol anywhere, but not sure.)
2) No hard sided coolers
3) No glass
