Disney cruise

Hi ladies - DH and I are planning to go on a cruise and based on the reviews he saw DH says Disney ships have better reviews than other cruises but disney is lot more expensive. We are not sure if its worth the extra cost especially when you go without kids. Has anyone here gone on a Disney cruise and find that there are enough entertainment/things to do for adults? Thanks!

A friend and his wife went on one. He said the ship was very well run but he wanted to jump off his balcony after the first 24 hours.

Check out Windstar Cruises. Small ships, more expensive but very much worth it.Chat Icon

Re: Disney cruise

If you gamble, this is not a good choice as they don't have casino's on the Disney Cruises.

We went on one for our honeymoon (many moons ago though when it was called something else) and the kids didn't bother us but now, after having kids, I wouldn't go on one just the 2 of us.

Just looked up Windstar, unfortunately they either don't sail when we want to go.

I went on a Disney cruise a few years ago with my sister in law and (then) 7 year old niece. I found a LOT to do as a single person and the kids did NOT bother me.

Re: Disney cruise

Pardon my intrusion, we went on a disney cruise last year (with children) and while, I personally wouldn't do a Disney cruise without kids because it's not my thing, I think that a child free couple who are into Disney could have a nice time on the cruise.

There are many portions on the ship that do not allow kids. Restaurants, a whole pool area, bars etc. Also, there is an adult only beach on the private island. Yes, you will see lots of kids on the ship but as long as you don't completely hate kids it should be okay. We did I lots of adult only stuff on board while our kids were at the kids clubs and had a great time as a couple.

ETA: in terms of quality the Disney Cruise has spoiled us for all other cruise lines. So much better than other cruises we have been on. They really are a well oiled machine! I find the passengers to be very different as well.

We have friends who are childfree but love everything Disney (whatever floats your boat no pun intended!) and they go on Disney cruises.

I know this post is old but we went on the Disney magic and they do great for adults. They have an adult only pool and lounge/snack bar and when you get to their private island they have an adult only beach.
