Disney - Christmas lights, etc....

When are all the lights up, etc? And when does the Osbourne light show start at Hollywood Studios? We were going to go for Halloween but we're probably going to go for the Xmas theme instead. We've been there before but can't remember for the life of me when it starts? Thanks!

Oh, and can you go on Splash Mountain in December or is it too cold?

I'm not sure when it starts, but we were there the last time from November 10-14 and the Osborne light show was going and decorations were up throughout. The Magic Kingdom Mickey's Christmas party (or whatever it's called ) was also on.

Currently, The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is scheduled to debut November 10th and run through January 3rd. These times can of course change, but that is the current schedule.

The last Halloween party is on November 1st, so you can safely assume that the resorts and parks will begin the transition to holiday decor immediately following. I believe the first Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom is November 8th, so logic would have it that at the very least Magic Kingdom will be completed by then.

Regarding Splash Mountain in December - well it all depends Mother Nature. I've been to Disney in December in shorts and a t-shirt, and I've been in a parka and gloves. It's just something you can't predict until you get closer and see what the trends are like.

Literally overnight some decorations will go up! So crazy. Osbourne lights re up waaaay before since it takes so long. of course they aren't turned on early.

P.S. Splash is DH's fave ride so it is never too cold to ride, according to him
