Did anyone see Bravos new mini series Dirty John?
I really liked the first episode
It’s based on a true story which always intrigues me
Dateline covered the story awhile back
Connie Britton is the main actress

It’s not based on her at all. It’s a real life story that a podcast was done on. She’s saying that brooks was similar to dirty John though in that he scammed her, lied to her, stole from her, etc.

I just can't sit there and listen to someone droning on and on with no video.

Possible spoilers....
I am not familiar with the story - haven’t listened to the podcast or anything. I watched episode 1 and thought it was just ok. After one episode I’m so turned off by this guy that I am questioning how an intelligent, independent woman could fall for him?! So she already knows that he’s not a real doctor like he portrays himself to be - that alone isn’t a huge red flag? She buys a $$$ house with (essentially FOR) him when she just met him like six weeks earlier? IDK maybe I’m being too harsh - I trust no one so maybe I’m not the best judge  not sure if I’ll watch the whole series or not.

My coworker and I were thinking the same thing. She was married 4 times before this, so I am thinking she doesn't have the best judge of character or has extreme blinders on.
In the podcast, her daughters keep saying her mom just tries to see the good in everybody...

She sounded like a GIANT idiot. I'm sorry, but she is the one who ultimately put her daughter's lives in jeopardy.
I'm shocked at how anyone could feel sympathy for her - especially after she took him back knowing how dangerous he was!!

I am watching it, just to see how it ends. I don't want to google anything for spoilers, since I am already watching the show, but it is getting tough. I can't imagine how someone could be so gullible. And I think there is just so much more to their family dynamic than Bravo can get in to in a limited series. There is more to the mother/daughter relationship with Connie Britton's character and her mom, being her mom stood up for the son-in-law that killed her other daughter. And why was she outside his house? And I am sure they will go back to it, but what about John and the first wife, and wasn't that her in the episode when someone broke into her house? I am not loving the show, but will stay with it and then look more into the podcast or something.

The woman who broke into the house and took a shower was someone they think John knew... They never pressed charges against the woman which if someone did break into your house... and put your clothes on... Normal people would press charges. But from what I remember they thought if they did press charges, the woman would have have ratted John out.

You know what else is refreshing- see Connie Britton is aging gracefully- and has some lines etc on her face- and not running to inject fillers and botox until she looks like the cat lady.
I love seeing that. It's very rare these days.
