did you gain more weight with your second pregnancy or about the same?

i am preggo with #2, and at 24 weeks up 22 lbs --- with #1 i was up 10 lbs at 24 weeks, and at 33 weeks i was up 22 lbs. just wondering if you usually gain more with #2.

I actually gained more weight with my first.

I'm 27 weeks with #2 and so far I have gained less at this point then I did with my 1st. Hoping this pattern continues

I gained about the same both times.

The same, 40lbs with each. However, with my DS (my 1st) I barely gained until I was around 20-24 weeks and then I popped and put a majority of the weight on from then until the the end. With my DD (my 2nd) I gained more in the beginning -1st trimester and most of the 2nd and then it slowed down and I didn't gain much toward the end of the 2nd trimester and the 3rd.

ETA- I was thin to start with, so not surprised I gained alot LOL I lost the weight with both within the first year after they were born, Infact it came off faster the 2nd time after number 2 (by the time she was 7 or 8 months) and I even lost another 10 lbs on top of it.

I would say I've probably gained alittle less, not much though.

I think I gained the least with #2 because the first two were "2 under 2" and I was chasing and lifting a toddler all day long during the pregnancy. I think I went back to 30 the last time because the girls were already 4 and almost 3 when I got pregnant...so no chasing and carrying. Also, it was my only pregnacy where I was not working. Plus, I was "going for broke" food-wise since it was my last pregnancy...haha!

I gained 24 lbs during my first pregnancy with DS and I gained 15 lbs with my second pregnancy for DD.

More with my first, which I attribute to chasing my toddler around while pregnant. They are 21 months apart.

I gained 10lbs less with DS#2.

10 lbs less with my second. But the pattern was different.

First baby I gained a ton in the beginning and slowed down. I didn't gain anything after 32 weeks.

Second baby, I didn't gain anything until around 19 weeks, and then I was gaining a lot each month.

I am on track to gain about the same.

I did however hear that for many women they gain more in the beginning of a second pregnancy and less in the end.

In the end i would gaining

DD #1- 25 lbs
DD #2- 30 lbs
DD #3- 32 lbs

But with #2 and #3 i gained more in the beginning and then less at the end.

I gained a few more pounds with my 2nd, but was also heavier when I got pregnant with #2 also.

I gained 25+ lbs with my first then my second. I attribute that to IVF drugs & water retention

I definitely gained more with my second! I gained 19 lbs. in total with my first and 36 lbs. with my second. Although my second weighed 1.5 lbs. more at birth than my first.

At this point, I'm exactly the same. I gained 3lbs in the first trimester.

With DS I gained 18lbs total.

Gained 5 lbs less with my 2nd-but started off 5lbs heavier...so in the end i weighed the same...but my 2nd was 1lb 5oz's bigger than my 1st

Looks like it will be pretty much the same for both!

I gained 33lbs with DS
I am 38w pg now and having a c in 7 days and I am up 30lbs.

I think for me it had a lot to do with time of the year. DD was born after Christmas and I took advantage of being pregnant around the holidays. With DS I was more cautious and really watched what I ate.
