did winthrop maternity visiting hours change??
the website says 6:30-8 and I thought it said 6-8 on the sign when I was there the other day
but when I called today they said it was 1-8

I am pretty sure they are 1-8. Could the 6:30-8 be for young children/siblings?

it used to be granparents and siblings 2-4 and everyone else 6:30-8

They did not change then. It was that way last year when I had DS.
2-4 for siblings and grand-parents
6:30-8pm for other visitors

Yes, when I was there in March it was EVERYONE from 1 - 8 - but they put DC in nursery from 6-8. So anyone can come during those times- not just family. Between you and me I didn't like it - especially the first day - here I've just given birth and am completely exhausted and just getting to know my baby and I have a room full of guests all day long - doesn't matter that it was family - it was everyone! I was soo tired! Up to you, but I would tell people to come at 4 or later- you need time to yourself and with your baby...

My friend will be delivering there next month and she told me yesterday visiting hours are 1:00-8:00pm.

Oh I don't like that at all.
I guess I will HAVE TO have my private room again.
I don't want a bunch of people roaming around all afternoon until the evening with a NB. People come sick, etc...
Then you have to transfer DS to the nursery when EVERYBODY is visiting people.
Talk about a security nightmare.
Before, the babies were already back in the nursery BEFORE the general public was allowed to come visit.

Yes starting in March the visiting hours for the maternity unit changed to 1-8 for every man, woman & child. I'm only assuming they changed it because of patient and visitior complaints of the previous strict visiting times.

imo.......1-8 is too big of a window
man I was so tired the first day I just wanted to rest and this mom had her kid visit at sibling hours 2-4 and then he stayed until 8 I was practically crying because he was screaming at the top of his lungs I kept waiting for nurse to kick him out but that never happened

yes, i'm going to delivery there very soon and the hours are 1-8, with the baby in the room the whole time except 6-8pm when baby is in the nursery.

I delivered in March and was also not happy with the new visiting hours. Thank goodness I got a private room because I am the type of person that would not have been able to handle a roommate with visitors for that long of a period!

Yeah I am not loving the new policy either. My friend is delivering there next week (or so we think....unless she goes this week) & she is asking for a private room.

IMO it should be strict. I know that some new mommies like to have a huge party in their room, but some new mommies actually need to heal.
