Day Care, babysitter, nanny, family, you......
Who takes care of your twins? I have to work. I carry the insurance (DH is a consultant) My mom takes them 3 days a week and DH works from home 1 day a week. MY MIL was taking them but now she feels that it is too much work now.....
Since we live in the city, child care is so very expensive. We are really stuck and are not sure how much more we can cut back......I could never afford full time help.....

Daycare.
It was never a question for us.
MIL/FIL is all we have and they are a very healthy 70 and 72 but I think DC's are too much for them day in and day out, they are retired and visit their other children OOS several times a year... I don't want to tie them down, even though MIL was a teacher for many years I think a group daycare (variety of daily activities and playing with other children) was the best choice for us. IL's are back-up care in case one or both are sick and can't go to daycare.
If I had to return to work right away we would have had a nanny for the first year and then daycare after that.
It seems as if she's feeling overwhelmed. I know it's short notice but I think you have to explore other options.

I really thought that it would be my mother that had the hard time. Now that the babies are older, I think it is a bit easier now.
I appreciate the fact that she did watch them for me last year. I wish we could afford day care (in NYC, day care would be 850.00 per week) I would be working to pay for the day care. A full time nanny is 700+.
I am just a bit overwhelmed right now!

My MIL watches them 2 days a week and right now I have a family member watching them the other days. My neighbor will be taking over for her this Fall. She is a SAHM whose kids are in school. It really works out great for us!

what about a college student. I know a few of my friends did that during the day and took classes at night.

My MIL used to watch them...come September, Christopher is going to a special program, and we are still looking at Daycares for Matthew....my heart breaks that they will be separated

DH works 4 am to 1:00 so they are with me untl I leave for work at 8:30. Once a week my MIL comes to my house to watch them, year round. 6 months out of the eyar my mom and dad watch them 2x a week. The other 2 or 4 days, depending on the month, they go to a sitter. DH has them from 1:00 til 5:30 when I get home.
In the fall they will eb starting preschool so they will be with sitter 2x a week and preschool 2x a week and mil once.
