Can you post your favorite hotels in NYC? My Dh and I are looking to do a weekend stay in the city and would like to stay at a very decent hotel there. We ware planning on Next Friday through Sunday. Thanks!

Thanksgiving weekend? It will probably be difficult to find something at this point.

Midtown location it really does not matter just as long as it is nice. Price range anywhere from $200-$350

Believe it or not, it may be easier to find a hotel.

That is a tough price range believe it or not. I now travel to NYC for work once a month and have a hard time staying in the $350 mark. I have had the most luck with the boutique hotels. They are tiny...but trendy, nice and clean. I just stayed at The Marcel in Gramercy which was nice....and am staying at The Chandler in Murry Hill in a few weeks. Both were about $350 a night for weekday stays.

Hotels.com is a great source!

OK, great! We will spend a bit more if we have to. Thanks!

Try priceline.com. You can put in what area of town you want to stay in, and how many stars you want the hotel to have. The only thing is, you don't have a choice, and whatever they pick for you, you are stuck. We stayed at the Lowes hotel for $150.00 a night, on the weekend. It was very nice.

I just checked our corporate rates at the following hotels and they have availability. Our rates are probably a few $'s less than regualr, but you may get a deal online.

Ganesvoort $400
Roger Williams $300
Morgan $375
W Hotels (starting at) $450
Hudson $330

Do you want to stay in any part of the place in particular?

I've always been a fan of Le Parker Meridien and the Barclay Intercontinental.

I don't like the Ws (rooms are too small for my liking.) I don't get the hype.

The Hudson has super small (and uncomfortable) rooms as well. We only stayed there when we were just going clubbing and didn't want to drive back to LI.

I've always loved The Palace Hotel. It's just such a beautiful hotel.. The InterContinental is also a nice choice. The Waldorf has romance packages. Not sure what their pricing is as of late, but we had one some time back and it was just heavenly. Absolutely the BEST bed I've ever slept in!

Oh, thanks for reminding me of this one. It is right there by where I used to work.

We used to stay at these too. They were a good value! I always liked the one by the UN, but I don't know if it's still a Crowne Plaza. Chat Icon
