Crib to toddler bed transition

How old was your child when you transitioned from the crib to the toddler bed..?

My DS is 2 1/2 and his crib just turns into a day bed.. All I would have to do is take the rail off

I guess I've been putting it off because I'm really not looking forward to him being able to get out his bedChat Icon and he sleeps SO NICELY in his crib

I've also been considering not using his crib at all and getting a Thomas bed? Maybe he will be more excited and like it better?

We moved Kaitee to a twin bed at 17 months. She slept on the floor and on top of her toy self for the first week. after a week she did great in it!

Re: Crib to toddler bed transition

is it just time for a bed?

I had to do it really early and it was a nightmare. Even now, instead of napping, he is playing in his room.

DS is 23 months and have not even thought about it yet since he is fine with being in his crib.

Robbie was out of his crib and into a twin size bed at 15 months; I skipped over the toddler bed, and he transitioned very nicely!

Re: Crib to toddler bed transition

We just moved Anthony into a twin bed at 26 months, needed the nursery for DS#2. We didn't let him see the room until it was completely done (we did Disney cars). And he LOVED it. We had no problems with him sleeping there at all, and I have the side rails up so he doesn't realize he can get out yet. So far so good.
