Convertible carseat question...

We're going to install the convertible carseat for Connor today and I just noticed that it says on it that it's only to be used in a rear-facing position for infants up to 20lbs. Connor is just about 18 lbs and only 4 months old. What do I do in a month or so when he's more than 20lbs??? Chat Icon He can't go forward facing until he's 1 year old. I didn't notice this when Caiden was in the seat. It's an Evenflo Triumph 5. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ack! Are you sure it doesn't say that you shouldn't turn before 20 pounds and 1 year (thats the usual warning)? On the Amazon listing it says rear-facing for infants between 5 to 30 pounds and installs facing forward for toddlers from 20 to 40 pounds for the Triumph.

You absolutely can not turn the car seat at 5 months, it wouldn't be safe for his little neck.

If its an older model that is rear-facing only to 20 lbs looks like you are going to have to go shopping. Some of the Britax models allow rearfacing until 33 pounds.

Yes... it's an older model from 2004. It definitely says rear facing only until 20lbs. Chat Icon

Re: Convertible carseat question...

Does anyone know if the Evenflo Triumph carseats are the same as the Triumph 5??? I want to get the Triumph 5 because that's what's listed as one of the safest, but I have noticed that they do have Evenflo Triumph carseats, but I'm not sure if they're the same as the Triumph 5? Any thoughts? Thanks again!

I would call Evenflo tomorrow and they can probably give you guidance on what you should do.
