The House gave final congressional approval to the sweeping package by a near party line 220-211 vote precisely seven weeks after Biden entered the White House and four days after the Senate passed the bill. Republicans in both chambers opposed the bill unanimously, characterizing it as bloated, crammed with liberal policies and heedless of signs the crises are easing.

A dominant feature of the 628-page bill is initiatives making it one of the biggest federal efforts in years to assist lower- and middle-income families. Included are expanded tax credits over the next year for children, child care and family leave — some of them credits that Democrats have signaled they’d like to make permanent — plus spending for renters, feeding programs and people’s utility bills.
Besides the direct payments and jobless-benefit extension, the measure has hundreds of billions for COVID-19 vaccines and treatments, schools, state and local governments and ailing industries from airlines to concert halls. There is aid for farmers of color, pension systems and student borrowers, and subsidies for consumers buying health insurance and states expanding Medicaid coverage for lower earners.

I think all these relief bills are filled with so much crap, under both Biden and trump. So much wasted money.
Instead of sending money where it’s not needed, I wish they got rid of the income caps....or raised them....so that our doctors, nurses, frontline workers right here in NY qualified for some of the benefits. I feel like all these relief measures are a slap in the face for them. They worked all thru this pandemic and most make too much to qualify.

Amen and while this is great for the short term, no one thinks about our kids and their kids who will be paying for this. There might be another one too so this is going to keep going on. I guess just keep printing money. What does these old people like Pelosi care as they won’t be around much longer and they have enough money to pass down to their kids and grandkids.

Not really happy with the bill and the income Cap limits. To say someone isn’t struggle cause they make over a certain amount of money is ridiculous.
Last time I checked everyone pays taxes some More than others. I can’t get behind that everyone doesn’t get to have a share of the money solely based on just because they are deemed they make too much.
Give the stimulus to everyone or only give it to those who lost income no matter their income level.
Also with the CTC they really put a income cap level on that also! Why???

The CARES act was bigger then this bill.
This act also encompasses more then direct payment to individuals.
Our national deficit was high when Biden got into office so the national debt doesn't fall 100% on the Biden administration. The Republicans had no problem spending the last 4 years

I am asking why you think it's a crap bill. What parts are you unhappy with?
Unemployment benefits? Rental assistance? The Child Credit?

I thought the whole reason people wanted everything opened was because people and businesses were suffering. So something is passed that may help even a little and that's complained about? Pick a lane.
