cold sores
Im prone to them when im under a tremendous amount of stress and use Abreva right away. Well im watching my neices and nephew this week (5 kids) and my bottom lip completly exploded. When my sister asked if i could watch them when they go on vacay i said yes initally but i was only 12 weeks pregnant - now im 28!! big difference!!!!! Tons of laundry, breakfasts, lunches dinners etc. u get the point LOL
ANyway u think its ok to use the Abreva? Most likely im gonna call the dr up anyway but what else can i use that is natural and can help? Thanks!!!

Re: cold sores
i usually take lysine (its an animo acid that helps produce healthy new collagen) but I had one when I was 15wks and doctor said not to use it. She said just use abreva or herpecin L, b/c they are both topical meds. Also zorvarix which is a prescription med.

Re: cold sores
I just got one too! I've gotten them since I was a little girl. HATE THEM. Lots of stress and too much sun will do it to me.
I got one RIGHT after I delivered DD and couldn't kiss her for about 2 weeks It was AWEFUL.
I use Abreva all the time and I asked my OB for an rx for Valtrex. Love getting that one filled at the pharmacy But it's just for my cold sores...nothing else, thank god!!
Ask your OB if they'll prescibe something for you. Let me tell you, those suckers disappear in a few days with Valtrex.

Re: cold sores
I just called my dr and hoping he will give me a script for Valtrex. My friend swears by it - she gets cold sores all the time and her OB gave her the script! Hopefully mine will write me out one!!!!
Thanks!

Re: cold sores
My OB lets me use Abreva. I put it on constantly when I get stressed.
