Civil Service Jobs
So I did a civil serivce job title search and found the school laboratory job I asked about in another post.http://www.co.suffolk.ny.us/civilservice/civilserviceinquiry/CategoryAction.aspx .
Now what do I do?
I don't see it on the list on examinations... do I just send them my resume?

With civil service jobs you have to wait for the test to come up. If there is no test up then there are no positions available (typically). It's not like the private sector where you just send your resume in and get called for an interview. For civil service, you send in the app with the app fee and "apply" to take the test. Once you've achieved the appropriate score they'll contact you for an interview. HTH. And GL!

I think you can send them a SASE with the name of the test on it and when testing info comes up they send it to you. From what my mom said though, its more than a normal stamp- try calling them to find out exactly what... good luck!

Not all civil service jobs require you to take an exam. Many are open competitive which means you can apply for the job based on qualifications you have. This is how I got my state job.
