so, after spending a good chunk of change again this year on christmas cards, i wonder, who do you mail to?

I make my list then I get the cards accordingly. I do photo cards of the kids. Pre kids I would still do the same thing but I hand wrote all the cards.

A lot of people. Everyone on my wedding list plus some.

those I care about and those who I am in contact with. Short list. I'm around 20 - 30 (max)

After the wedding I started sending cards to most of the invite list. That tapered off because I was getting a fraction back. This year I just have too much going on, so it's just to return the ones I get.

When we finally have kids, I'll send more since it's like a picture update for family.

I send to everyone on my list. I usually only remove people if I haven't actually spoken to them in a year or two AND they haven't sent me a card. If we haven't spoken, but we both send each other cards that's cool. Same goes for if we talk occasionally but I don't get a card from them - they just may not be card people, but I'll still let them know that I'm thinking of them!

My SIL works at a photo place and does my cards for me. She prints me out 25 and I open up my wedding list and pick out the 25 people/families that we talk to the most and send to them.

We send to our friends and family we see/communicate with on a regular basis. We need about 50 cards so I take the picture of DS myself and wait until Shutterfly has 40% off!

I don't send cards at all. It's a waste of my time, effort, money, trees, everything. JMO!

This year I am not sending any out. In the past, I send them to family and close friends, but we get very few in return.

I send to the majority of the people on my wedding list, except for my parents/in-laws friends, a few distant relatives, co workers & a couple of friends who moved didn't tell me their address.

I am wondering if I should cut back. I sent out 33 and so far have gotten about 12. I don't send cards just to get one back, but if other people aren't seninding them to me
and I know they are card senders) maybe I have overestimated our relationship & me sending them a card is just awkward.

this year i sent to everyone but i am keeping record of who sends back to me and some people who dont send back are coming off the list for next year.

I send to everyone that was invited to our wedding plus people we've become close with over the last 2.5 years.

I cut my mom's cousins that are on my wedding list though.

Immediate family and close friends, along with anyone else who has sent us cards in the past. I sent out about 30 cards this year. I'm sure we'll expand it next year when we have a LO.

I send to everyone... If I notice I havent gotten a card from someone for the past say... 3 yrs, I'll stop sending to them... Unless of course its a family member or friend who is unable to send out cards

I put other. Last year was our 1st year doing cards, since we had just got married, I sent one to everyone we invited to our wedding. This year I didnt do a card b/c I was way too busy w/school. Next year, I will do them again. Everyone will get one.

I send to the necessary family members and friends. Then I will send to anyone who sends to us who weren't on my list.

just a few people. close friends and relatives. a few that my mom asks me to send to. a few people i've lost touch with, but like to know i still think about them and wish them well. i send somewhere between 15 and 30 cards.


ETA--before kids, I never sent out cards. my first daughter was born dec 1st, so her birth announcement was pretty much our holiday card, and the longest list i sent to. the next year, i was getting her 1st bday pics, and cards were included in the package I sent. The next year, things were crazy, and I didn't send out any cards. This year, I sent out just a few--maybe 20-25.

I mailed about 125 cards this year. Friends, our HUGE family, our co-workers, neighbors....

After receiving back only a fraction of the amount we sent out this year, next year I'm cutting my list way down. We sent out 50 cards this year and so far got 10 back
