Change preschool for 3 yo? advice needed

DC #1 is 3 and has gone to same daycare since she was a baby. We love it there, she loves it, they do a great job and she has been with a lot of the same kids since she was a baby. I'm home on maternity leave with DC#2 and debating about taking an extended leave or just not working for 6 months-1 year. My question is should I just keep her where she is for preschool even though it's expensive to pay day care rate? Or change her to church program which is 1/5 of the cost for just a few hours a day, with the possibility of her going back to daycare preschool in 6 months - 1 year when I go back to work? She would know a few kids at the church program but obviously teachers/building/routine are all different. Appreciate any advice or opinions, TIA!

If you can swing it financially I'd keep her where she is. It's just easier overall.
I am a fan of consistency.

However, if it will put a strain on you financially due to you not working, then by all means it will be fine and she'll adjust.

I just prefer to keep things the same if possible.

Can you chat with the daycare about a preschool rate? Friends of mine took time off and they were able to get a reduced rate at our daycare to provide consistency (it was still more than some of the church preschools but, not as much more).

I would agree with the others, I would keep her where she is.... unless you taking the extended break from work would put a financial strain on you with the costs of the daycare.

I'd leave her, especially if there's a chance you'll be going back to work sooner. I just kept my DS in his daycare through my extended maternity leave. Can you decrease the days to save money? Maybe only do 3 days/week?
