Can you recommend your OBGYN that delivers at Stony Brook? (No Ang-Rich, not pregnant!)
I am not messing around this time with the hell I was put through at St. Charles for the 'after delivery' mayhem. Since I nearly died, not necessarily due to the fact of my OBGYN, but due to all the doctors tending to me from all fields. I am truly not comfortable in going back to St Charles. In fact, I am a wreck that my son is having surgery there in January. I shouldn't be feeling this way.
Anyway, I want to find an OBGYN that has more than one doctor and delivers at Stony Brook.

wow, what a scary experience!!
i love SB hospital....and i'm not easy to please...i hate hospitals. I was so impressed!!

i love SB hospital....and i'm not easy to please...i hate hospitals. I was so impressed!!
AM I mistaken that they are mainly midwives? Or is that another place I am thinking of? Chances are that I will be high-risk, or at least at risk of a gigantic baby again.

Contemplating it in the year 2011 and my annual is due in January, so figured I'd start 'shopping around'.

they are "regular" obgyns.. there is SB Midwives, who many rave about, too!
I'd recc Dr. Davenport. She is always rated one of NY's best OBGYNs.

I guess this is my official way of contemplating throwing my hat back in the ring. My last surgery was in January, so I always told family to give me at least one year without a surgery. Maybe I should count DS's surgery and go one year from there! That'll teach them to ask when the next giant baby is coming!

LOVE them!!!! Dr. Lochner delivered DS! I ADORE her! She is a younger doctor and has a year old son. So you can relate to her well! I feel like I am talking to a friend when I see her... which I really like. Dr. Porte is amazing also! He has such a wonderful bedside manner! He did my sons circumcision and checked on him multiple times after. He even made me "check out his work" immediately following the procedure because he said he did a nice job. He was so proud haha!
Great practice as a whole though... never have problems making appointments and never wait long!

I love Three Village Women's health as well.
Although, Dr. Porte at Stony Brook OB/GYN was on call for them when I went into labor and did my c-section, he was great. ITA on his bedside manner. If I didn't love 3 village so much I would switch.
