Camp counselor tips
Can you please help with tips. Boys are going to camp 6 weeks and ends this Friday.
I asked the Director for their counselor's names. She never said if there's a head counselor, but sounds like they're all equal.
Any ideas how much to give for each? Do I write a check or give cash?

My da is in sleep away and I just called yesterday to ask this question. They said it's completely up to the parents, some give nothing, some give more, but their suggestion was $5 per camper, per week. Since ds was there for two weeks, that would only be $10 per counselor. Considering its sleep away and they have the kids 24/7, I'm giving $20 to each counselor and the CIT which ends up being $100 total.
Edit- and I'm giving cash. All of his counselors are foreign so I don't know how they would go about cashing a check.

Our camp set up a tip sheet.
For eight weeks this was their recommendation:
Cit $25-35
Jr counselor $35-45
Sr counselor 45-55.
Since we did four weeks, I gave 1/2 of the middle of each range. My kids each had one cit, two jr counselors, one senior counselor, one bus counselor and one bus driver. I gave tips to each of them.
Cash tips. I would not do checks.

Camp counselor tips
Our camp sent out a tip sheet. $2-$5 per day per counselor. DD had 2 counselors last year, she has 3 this year. There is no way I can afford even $2 per day per counselor, so I'm tipping what I can afford. Happy to hear people are tipping $20 per counselor.

that is an insane tip rate. I wonder what they are paying their counselors. $5 a day x 5 days is $25 per week. They expect you to give $200 for eight weeks for one counselor?

I gave 250 to DD's counselors she was there for 8 weeks.
I gave 175 to DS' counselors he was there for 6 weeks.
I gave 40 to the bus driver for DD camp and 35 to the bus attendant.
ETA this was all based on guidelines provided by the camps. I gave the exact for DS, the higher end of guidelines for the bus people and attendant since she didnt miss a day and the lower end for DD b/c i feel like 250 is enough!
500 in tips! Now I need to tip EI therapists b/c hes almost done ughhhh

Camp counselor tips
It depends, if DS had a great experience, knows his counselors name and talks about the counselor being involved with his group I consider that great service and I tip about $15.00 per week.

DS' recommended tip sheet said (for 8 weeks 5 days a week) - $45 for senior counselor and $25 for each jr counselor. Plus $15 each for extra people like bus driver and swimming instructor.
