buyers agent, sellers agent... what's better?

I started looking at condos and the real estate agent who has been taking me around is asking me to choose if I would like for her to represent me or represent the seller. If I go into contract and end up buying a place, I want to know what is more cost effective for me. What do you think?

I really don't need her to "find" anything for me, per say. I know exactly where I am looking and what I want.

Thanks for any advice you have!

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'll try to clarify and help out...
I think she may be asking you to be your "buyers agent". I can't see why she would say anything about being the sellers agent, when the house(s) that are up on the market already have their own agents...and that's "seller's agent"

Either way, if you choose to have her as your agent (buyers agent), her commission comes out of the sale of the house you decide to buy....paid by the sellers.....which is split with their agent.

Does this make sense? It's hard to type it out and explain.

Yes, thank you! I met her at an open house for her listing, for which she was the seller's agent. Then she found some other places for me to go to that is not listed by her. At that point she said that I can choose if I want her to represent me as her buyers agent or not. This is my first shot at this so I'm not 100% sure what the difference is between the two, which is why I asked :) Thanks for you help
