"brand name" formula
has anyone steered away from "brand name" formula (eg similac & enfamil) and bought any other type?

yep I switched at 6 months from Enfamil Lipil to BJ's,Costco or Sam's powder..its the same thing and my DS had no problem..
they most likely are manufactured in the same plant anyway..
what a savings!

that's what i was wondering. My dh and I read the ingredients and they are exactly the same things.
