I feel like the furniture there, while cheap, is very poor quality.
It's kind of a get what you pay for kind of thing.

Re: Bob's Furniture Store

It's hit or miss really.

For us, it was good.
We bought our dining room set there and 4 years later, it's like new. But that's a dining room that is only used for holidays. etc.

We have friends who bought their dining room set there and they use it every day. 5 Years and it's still in great condition.

But I have to agree, It's true that you get what you pay for. When we bought our stuff, we bought it being ok that it doesn't last 20 years.

Agree. And I think a place like Bob's is great with that intention. When we bought our house we had nothing and had to buy all rooms of furniture.
I am glad we didn't spend a ton at the time because now, 10 years later, my tastes have changed so much and I'd like to get some new stuff. If we had bought expensive furniture I'd feel reluctant to change it out.

i think their wood furniture (dining room tables, bedroom sets) are better than their couches. I've had 2 couches from them and I'm not happy. I don't know when I'll learn my lesson. But I think my grandparents have the powerlift chairs and they're fine.

We had a big problem with one of their couches about 5 years ago. It literally fell apart - the entire wood frame broke apart. Because we had the warranty coverage (that you pay extra for), we wound up getting full credit towards a new couch. The new one was definitely better, (not great, but better) but we just recently replaced it - not because it was broken, but because I wanted something else for the room it was in.

We had also ordered a dresser from there for one of the boy's rooms - when they delivered it,there was a big hole in the back. The delivery guys were just going to deliver it, put it up against the wall and hope that we didn't notice. Luckily we did, and again, the piece was replaced. No problems with it since then

I bought the couch in our playroom from them. I am happy. I didnt want to spend a lot of money for something I felt was going to get milk and whatever else spilled on it. I also bought our bedroom furniture there. I have had no issues.

I have a dining room set, couches, and a mattress and have no complaints.

We are going to purchase a bedroom set for my DD from them in a month or so.

You really can't beat their prices. My tastes change all the time and I know going into the purchase that I am not buying furniture to last 20 or so years.

Same here.

We are very happy with our recliner from there.

Our bedroom furniture is 8 years old and is in decent shape.

We bought coffee and end tables from there though and they scratched easily - not great for a highly used area...

We got pretty much a majority of our furniture in our house from there 5 years ago - bedroom set, dining room set, living room couches/tables, and kitchen table/buffet. I really have no complaints as most of it has held up pretty well, the only thing is that our kitchen table is a little wobbly now and the nuts/bolts always seem to come loose.

I would not buy a couch there, our cushions are pretty flattened for only having the sofa for a year. Our dining table has held up pretty well. My daughter has a pretty dresser from there, and it's held up nicely, but the drawers are not deep enough at all.

Agree, we bought our basement couch from there 3 years ago, still very good condition. We end up falling asleep on it, it's so comfy. We used to use it nightly, but it's harder with DS to get down there to watch movies, so it's more like weekly now.

We had a couch from Bob's and it was awful!! After only a year springs were popping through. I would NEVER buy from them again.

This! We have our bedroom set from there. NEVER AGAIN!!!! When we move we are buying a new bedroom set and trashing this one. My queen mattress does not fit my queen bed frame. The dressers are poor quality and we had to return 3 or 4 couches and DH had to threaten a lawsuit and bringing the couches back himself and leaving them outside the store before they agreed to give us money back for the couch that arrived damaged every single time. My parents also had to return a couch from there that arrived damaged.

we had to replace our dining set after less than 2 years bc the wood split. IL's couches are awful. The cushions are nearly flat and that happened after about 2-3 years. The only good thing I've gotten from them is my bobopedic mattress.

My grandma has had the power lift chair for at least two years now and it still works great. She uses it pretty much nightly and falls asleep in it alot. Granted she is tiny. I believe she got the cheaper of the two.
We just inherited my husbands grandma's chair that was about a year old. I haven't used it but will once I have my baby in September. I am far from tiny and it's comfortable for me.

I would search for reviews on the power lift recliners themselves since some items from Bob's are hit or miss.

Re: Bob's Furniture Store

I think it really depends on what it is like previous posters have said. My bedroom set is from there-got it in 2009 and is still in great condition, my couches were from there and one couch was horrible, the love seat still looks great. My sister got her couches from there in 2010 and they still look amazing

I bought my sons furniture from their and it is holding up very well. This him swinging off the bunk beds every 5 seconds. I also have a dresser that looks like new several years later. I think with any furniture some of them are cheaply made no matter where you get them from!

We had gotten all of our furniture from there in 2010. It has held up rather well and got my DD bed & mattress from there in December. No issues. A friend of mine had ordered couches from there a few years ago and they were horrible! It was like you weren't even sitting on a cushion. When you sat down, you were very sunken in, almost hitting the frame. It was a comedy act to get back up!

Its IS a hit or miss. We have had 2 sectionals with no problems and then we have another couch that has had problems. When we lived in an apartment we had a bedroom set from there that was such poor quality and wood from the dresser drawers would break every time you opened it. For me I do like them if you have little ones and don't want to worry about investing in expensive furniture.

We just got a lot of furniture from Bobs (we moved into our first house and didn't want to spend a lot but needed new furniture) and the quality is not the best. They had to redeliver our table and tv chest 3 times! Every time they came back, the wood would be dented or scraped or scratched, etc. It was ridiculous.

We have a toddler and two cats, so whatever, it's fine for what we paid but not high quality at all.

Re: Bob's Furniture Store

We bought our basement couches, coffee table and end tables there for pretty cheap. It's a nice set. We didn't want to spend a lot for basement couches that could be replaced in a few years, but 8 years later they're still in good condition and extremely comfy and we use them almost every day. Coffee and end tables are also holding up well.

We've known people who've had bad experiences with their purchases and with dealing with the company.

I agree that it's hit or miss.

I hate my couch from bobs. Both recliners stopped working and the cushion on my husbands side is pretty much non existant.
