blisters on tongue - what could this be?

DD is 16 months old. We noticed the other day that she has some smooth blisters on her tongue. They look like they're red with like a white outline around them. They don't seem to bother her at all - she's eating and drinking fine. No fever. No other physical symptoms other than the fact that she had a weird diaper rash earlier in the week that has since gone away.

She got these sores/blisters about 3 weeks ago as well...at that time she was seeing the doctor for pneumonia and was on both an antibiotic and nebulizer treatments and the doctor said the spots on her tongue were normal when toddlers are sick. I'm just confused as to why they've re-appeared now and she's not sick Chat Icon Any idea what it could be?

Is the rest of her tongue coated in white?
I was thinking maybe thrush from being on the antibiotics?

No, the rest of her tongue looks normal. I originally thought thrush too, but she doesn't have the signature white "patches" that usually comes along with thrush.

Could be an allergy. Talk to her Ped about it. I get them from acidic foods and chocolate, but they go away. Pineapple is the worst so I avoid it.
I also get them when my immune system is down and I'm coming down with something and even before my periods once in a while. No one else in my family gets them, but me. Try and take note when they come after certain foods and see if that effects her.

I hadn't thought about an allergy reaction. She actually had an allergic reaction (a rash around her eyes) the day prior from some red dye in cake icing. I don't know why I didn't even think they could be related.

Coxsackie?

Could it be coxsackie if she has no fever and the sores are only on her tongue and no where else? Not even other parts of her mouth. And they're not painful.

my DD once had a very mild case of coxsackie. Barely a whisper of a rash on her hands and feet- no fever, felt fine.
Could be a mild case

My son had coxsackie with just one spot and barely a fever so it’s possible
