birthday party times-which do you prefer
DH and I are debating on what to have DD's birthday party. She will be 5. These are the days/times available to us, which do you prefer and why?
Saturday at 10 am
Saturday at 2 pm
Saturday at 3 pm
Sunday at 11 am
Sunday at 1 pm

birthday party times-which do you prefer
Sat at 10am or sun at 11am. Gives people the rest of the day to themselves and is before naptime

The earlier the better. I hate parties that are right in the middle of the day, it kills the whole day.

This. Plus usually with young kids families are up early anyway. I know when my DD has a party later in the day she will bug us all day long asking if its time for the party yet.

birthday party times-which do you prefer
Saturday 2 or 3 pm- DD has swim class on Saturday morning. Sunday mornings we hang out as a family have breakfast and catch up the last
thing I want to do is to rush off to a kids party.

Sat at 2 or 3. Almost everyone we know does some sort of activity on Sat morning (swim, soccer, piano, dance, etc).

Same. We hate rushing to get up early and out the door on the weekends. We usually have a nice brunch at home around 10 or 11. Then start getting ready, then head out for the day.

I prefer Sat at 2 or 3 pm. For 2 reasons:
1) I hate rushing in the morning.
2) It'll give my kids something to do in the afternoon.

I know most school aged kids have activities on the weekend.

I agree with the early parties. Either Sat 10 or Sun 11. It's a 5 year old party so you don't have to worry about naps, but I like getting out right after breakfast and starting the day. By the time the kids are done playing you serve lunch then we have the rest of the day for activities, errands, etc.

Same here. I booked my son's party for 12-3 and I know my family from Staten Island and Jersey are going to be an hour late at least.

ITA. I used to be for early parties but, at 5 - a lot of kids are in morning activities.

I agree. I hate having to get up and rush. I like to wake up late, spend an hour or 2 in my pjs, drinking coffee on weekends.
I have to get up early and rush to get showered, dressed, out the door 5 days a week.
I hate when I have to do that on the weekends too.
