Biden’s first 50 days.
I’m paying more for gas.
I don’t get the stimulus promised to middle class bc middle class on Long Island does not count.
Interest rates went up.
Vaccines still hard to come by.
Bombings.
Record number unaccompanied minors at the border....crisis levels.
Can’t wait to see the next 50 days.

Wasn’t it republicans who insisted on lowering the threshold. I’m not happy about them lowering it at all but if we are going to point fingers shouldn’t it be to the correct people.

Also gas prices have nothing to do with the president really. It’s supply and demand.

How does the vaccine production have to do with Biden? He’s only been ok office for 50 days how much can really be done.

Listen I am all for placing blame where blame is due but we should really stop trying to blame the president for everything and look at the real reasons why things are down good and bad.

I want FAIRNESS. The stimulus is BS. I’ve explained why it’s not right based on COL.

Biden flat out said he’s all about supporting lower class. Expanding middle class and making everyone else pay their fair share. Well, according to this stimulus most of Long Island isn’t ‘middle class’. I hope everyone is ready to pay their fair share now. I’m already disgusted when I look at how much is taken out of our checks. I have a husband who busts his butt to be successful. All that is required to do his job is have a high school diploma. But you have to work your butt off and start off making next to nothing....anyone can do it. But why do it when half your paycheck is gone? Why do it when the government will just keep giving you money to be mediocre? The money is not going where it needs to! I’m so glad my elderly parents on a fixed income who lost nothing during the pandemic got the full amount lol meanwhile families making $161k got nothing lol

The highest-income 20% of households (who make about $170,000 or more) would bear nearly 93% of the burden of Biden’s proposed tax increase, and the top 1% nearly three-quarters.

Just running the numbers, I can quit my part time job and then we would be eligible for the child care credit. We would still get our credit at the end of the year but I’d get a nice monthly payment. We don’t ‘need’ my job. It would be nice to get money to stay home. I work so that my kids can do extra things and we can travel. Great logic isn’t it? We wonder why Americans are lazy. They feel entitled. You won’t see these millennials working two jobs to put food on the table. You won’t see them take a low paying job and actually working their way up. All this money we are spending....can’t we come up with a FAIR system?

I think you are making some very broad assumptions. Of course there are always going to be some lazy people but to say Americans are lazy and no one wants to work their way up, I don't think that's fair. I graduated in college in 2003 with a 4 year degree. I had a part time job those 4 years and worked my way up to management. I stayed there because the pay and benefits were very good at the time. Continued to get yearly raises. Stayed for 14 years. The company restructured and I was layed off in 2015 because they eliminated my position. One week week after I returned from maternity leave. Lost everything. With a 2 year old and a 3 month old to take care of. Things happen to people and it's very hard to start over later in life...

Well we seem to be a ‘one size fits all’ country right now.

But I get it, there are different scenarios. We always hear that immigrants are willing to work the jobs Americans won’t. For example, This millennial generation would never take a job at a landscaping company working all day making $15 an hour. They would actually have to do manual labor. Meanwhile 20 years ago you would see a college kid working his Butt off doing manual labor for minimum wage. It’s a different generation now that is being taught you don’t need to work hard. You can float buy doing the bare minimum. I’m scared for the country my kids are growing up in.

Again FTR I i’m not a Republican or a Democrat I refuse to associate myself with either one. I base my decisions on a topic not a party line!

I’m more pissed at NY politicians....ALL NY politicians. No one wants to discuss why our COL is so high.

I’m pissed that my income is not considered ‘middle class’. We’re not rich. We live comfortably and within our means but the hits come from every angle and we never get a break. I posted on the healthcare thread how we ‘make too much’ and don’t qualify for any assistance for our major Heathcare bill we got from the hospital. Let me pull a couple thousand out of my bank account for that. Once my kids are college aged we ‘make too much’ for assistance so let me start pulling money from our paychecks to save for that. It’s just nonstop things we don’t qualify for and we are middle class on Long Island!!!!!

agree, and with the many undocumented coming across the boarders WITH COVID and sadly many unaccompanied children being sent...

Americans are also now paying for vaccines to be sent to other countries such as Africa.

Trillions!! we are never going to get out of this debt, this I dont agree with Biden

I'm not blaming Biden for vaccination shortages.
He is however now changing his mind on student loans
