BEST product for bad raw diaper rash
Poor Paxton's taking Augmentin and has had bad poops resulting in a BAD diaper rash. I've tried, triple paste, butt paste, aquaphor, A&D, desitin. Anything else or any home remedies out there?

Burnt flour,
To make burnt flour, heat a handful of flour over low heat in an ungreased frying pan, moving it constantly until it is evenly browned and smells toasted. This should be used when cooled, as you would use baby powder.

I know there are a few ladies who SWEAR by probiotics during a course of antibiotics!! Hopefully they can chime in with more info!
Also, I know some folks have used MYLANTA (dab it on a cotton ball then dab on his bum) -- and try to leave his diaper off for as long as possible a few times a day!!!

i've heard that mylanta is great but i've never tried it.
i've tried triple paste, butt paste, regular A&D, vaseline, desitin...
in my experience, A&D ointment with zinc is the absolute BEST. the diaper rash just disappears!

I don't think regular yogurt has enough of the good stuff you need to restore the intestinal flora balance after antibiotics. I know happy bellies products have probiotics, and you can also buy them in health food stores. Blissful has a lot of experience and knowledge about them, please FM her if she's not on tonight, she can definitely help!

Try to keep your baby without a diaper as much as possible to dry it out......Nicholas had a TERRIBLE rash last week and Triple Paste worked the best, but didn't clear it totally. I took him out of his diaper, put him on his tummy (on a towel in case he peed) several times. I swear by the next day, there was a HUGE improvement......

For really bad, raw diaper rashes, we mix cortaid with desitin and put it on the raw spots. It worked beautifully for DD!

DD had a REALLY bad diaper rash over the summer and I tried everything everyone on here recommend, unfortunately nothing worked. I ended up bringing her in to the ped. she recommend:
Hydrocortizone
Clotrimazole
Bacitracin
Mix equal parts of each and use 3 times a day and the other diaper changes, use whatever diaper cream you usually use. It worked wonders. I still use it. If I see her getting the least bit red I use it and by the next time I change her diaper is all better. I got them all from Target and I bought the Target brands.

If he's on anitbiotics...I bet it is a yeast infection!! Get otc Lotrimin fungal cream and put that on 2x per day with the desitn over it...it will be gone in a few days!!

its called Butt Paste its so thick its fantastic! we acutally used to use it on the elderly in the nursing home to prevent breaking down on their butts! we use it on abby it fantastic!

Sounds like a yeast rash caused by the antibiotics... they go hand in hand
First... get baby on some probiotics. You can find them in your healthfood store. Look for a brand with at least 3 live cultures and preferably the refrigerated variety.
Second you need to call the ped... you probably need a prescription for nystatin. You can try lotrimin over the counter to start.....
You can also open a capsule of acidopholus and sprinkle it on the diaper area...
