Best gift for a pregnant mama?
Hello lovely ladies....sorry to crash! A very special lady in my life is pregnant and I would love to shower her with gifts!  What is the best gift you have gotten? I am thinking a book and a basket full of other goodies but I am clueless

The best gift my sister got after she has her baby was from a family fried of ours who was VERY generous. She had her cleaning ladies come to my sister's house every 2 weeks for 3 months to clean her house. It was a GODSEND!!!

I'm 8 weeks now, and I think some books about expecting would be wonderful. And if it's a close friend, maybe a cute maternity top and a onesie with a funny saying or something!
Or it would be funny to make a pregnancy preparation basket, with sea bands, ginger candy, heartburn medicine...
My dr. told me no prenatal massages in the first trimester.

one of my friends got that for me - and it was amazing. I used it in the second tri I believe. LOVED it!!!

Ahhh gotcha.... I would defenitely recomend this book:
"From conception to birth: A life unfolds"
AWESOME AWESOME book!!! My MIL got it for us when we got pregnant. They have real pictures of the baby from the moment of conception to brith!! Great book to read with DH and see what your baby looks like at each moment from conceptin to delivery.

These suggestions are wonderful thank you so much!!  But, I hate to be a pain. She may be moving in the near future so I am hesitant about a massage and the same thing with the magazine subscription. It has to be a physical gift.

My fave book is The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy. I would have also enjoyed:
gift cert for maternity clothes
Gift cert for pregnancy safe products(face wash, lotions etc)

you can find great gifts on this website:
preggo gifts
as a pregnant lady myself, i highly suggest the following:
the body pillow!! hands down, every pregnant woman will bogart all the pillows in the house to make her back and grow belly comfy. she will love this
I also suggest stretch mark cream lotions. at least 9 out of 10 pregnant women are concerned about stretch marks and prevention
and finally belly bands!!
belly bands are great for when you too small for maternity pants yet too big for prepregnancy pants. it allows you to wear your pants unbuttoned without anyone knowing.. they come in a variety of colors..
and finally, the baby bargains book!! i cant rec. this enough! it gives a review of pretty much everything you will need and not need for your baby as you register! i loved it!

I love the idea of pregnancy basket. You could add lots of little things
You could put in books, lotions for the belly and body, teas (peppermint,chamomile), candies, gift cert. for ice cream , Maybe a cute maternity top for the spring (she won't be using it now but, you could get it on clearance now and add it to the basket), bubble bath or a bath salt would be awesome.

I made a gift bag with a pregnancy calendar and a tin of preggie pops for my friend with a note about how excited I was for her and her family.
