Re: baby's first birthday

I would ask Mommy if there is something particular that she would like for baby.....

Whatever you do make sure you get a gift receipt. Toys R Us, Babies R Us, & Target do not except exchanges or refunds if you dont have one. (Many other places are like this as well) Ive always found that, when it comes to kids birthdays, you always wind up getting doubles of things....or too many outfits than they will ever use....Not that that is any fault of the gift giver it's just the way it is for some reason...

A good gift idea that I just did for a 2nd birthday was get the birthday boys a gift certificate to Kiddie Kandids...that's the portrait studio in BRU...It was really a perfect gift.

i think that's definitely okay!

i usually just go to TRU or BRU and get a toy or two from the age-appropriate section of the store.

Re: baby's first birthday

I look on amazon under their rankings for the best toys for that age. We bought our nephew a ride-on horse for his first birthday and he loved it.

I guess parents may like clothing gifts, but toddlers usually hate them. Our nephew's bday party was last weekend and the threw all the clothes on the ground to get to the toys!

That is definitely ok. I think $40 is fine as well.
