Baby Shower Games....

Has anyone been to a baby shower lately? What games did you play?

I'm planning my sisters and have come up with "the pacifier game" which is where I Give each guest a cute pacifier necklace when they arrive and explain the rules to them. If you say "BABY" and someone hears you, that person gets your pacifier necklace. At the end of the shower, the person with the most necklaces is the WINNER!!

& Also Baby Word Scrambler....

I need another and really don't feel like doing Bingo...AGAIN! lol

Also, what are some good prizes...i was thinking of doing gift baskets (which is what I did for her bridal shower)

Help?

Re: Baby Shower Games....

You might want to ask on the Pregnancy and the Parenting board as well.

I didn't want games at my shower, so all they did was the timer game - someone set the timer and when it went off - whoever's gift I was opening received a gift.

The last baby shower I went to they gave out $2 & $5 scratch off lotto games as prizes which was a big hit.

The only game they played was bingo.

Re: Baby Shower Games....

At my baby shower, my friend had a few games but the one the people liked the most was a candy/diaper game.

She took 4 or 5 diapers and put microwaved, squashed up choclate candy bars in them. She had numbers on the diapers and a pre-printed sheet of numbers. She passed the diapers around and you had to guess which candy bar was in which diaper. Some of them were really quite poo-like. I think the Reeses peanut butter cup was the worst! It was fun and kinda gross at the same time.

Also.. she had 6 baby food jars that the labels were removed from. Every person got 6 popsicle sticks and passed the jars around. Stick in your popsicle stick and taste and guess the baby food. Also gross but fun.

She had candles, a small bottle of wine and some bath and body stuff as prizes...

Re: Baby Shower Games....

My mom and sister organized my baby shower and did the following game -

They wrote up 20 questions and the answer to each question was either "Deirdre" (me) or "Neil" (dh). The questions were something like:

Who was a born a baldie? (me)
Who was afraid of Mr. Rogers as a child? (dh)

It was a lot of fun.

Check out babyshowergamesatoz.com

You download the game cards & then print them out yourself. Each game is $7 or you can get 75 games for $17.

Actually, I just printed out mine last night so if you want, fm me & i'll give you my code so you can use it

Re: Baby Shower Games....

i hosted a shower for a friend not too long ago.

i had two games... it was a quite crowd

we played:
name matching

you take the names of the guests, mom, baby-to-be (if known), maybe even dad and you put them in a list on one side of the paper

on the other side of the paper you create a list of the meaning of the names (obviously you mix up the order)

your guests need to draw a line connecting the names to the meaning.

the other game we played was:
baby animals

same concept as the previous game.

one list is the name of the animals...
ex: dog, cat, mouse

the other list is the name of the baby animals
ex: puppy, kitten, pinky

i hope i explained that well.

they were a big hit

Re: Baby Shower Games....

I just had a baby shower for my sister, but I wasn't in charge of the games, the two #@$% that "helped" me were. They did Baby Bingo and Guess How Big Mommy's belly is...(Chat Icon I'm sorry, but I think that game is rather insensitive, unless the mom to be has a good sense of humor). Anyway, for that game, they passed out this package of ribbon and each person had to cut a piece in the size they thought would fit perfectly around the belly, the person that came the closest without going over wins.

Re: Baby Shower Games....

A few friends and I just threw a shower for a friend and played the following games:

Bottle drinking race - we filled up about 10 bottles with 2 oz. of orange juice (some ladies opted for mimosa) and who ever finished their bottle first won. The key was to use the more advanced bottle nipples b/c the infant ones were too hard.

Birthday cards - we handed out envelopes labeled 1-13 to groups of 2 or 3 people. Each team was instructed to create a birthday card for the baby for the year listed on the outside of the envelope. The mom thought it was so sweet.

"My name is" - Each guest was given a name tag with some baby associated word on it (e.g. pampers, blanket, etc.). The guests had to call each other by the name on their name tag. If they messed up, they had to put coins in a piggy bank for the baby. It was a pretty funny game.

At my shower the "BABY" game (say the word baby) was a huge hit!

For my sisters shower, I bought a baby bottle, washed it, and filled it with skittles (her fave candy)..the guests had to guess how many skittles were in there.

I went to a friends shower where they did "Dirty Diaper". Take 6 different chocolate bars, melt them in the microwave and have the guests look at or smell the diaper and guess the candy bar..Sick, Gross, but fun and funny.
