Average cost for daycare?
Can someone tell me what the avg cost for daycare is? Either by the hour or for the week
We are looking at full-time for 7 or 8 hrs per day, 5 days a week.

I know of in home daycare that is as low as $5/hour and my friend pays $1400 a month for a daycare center...and everything that falls in between.

Our center is $260.00 per week for infants/toddlers and $240.00 for preschoolers.

I pay 245 a week for an infant at a center for 45 hours a week.

I will be paying $292 a week for extended hours. I think without the extended hours it was $244.

Thanks ladies. I appreciate it. I thought I was totally offbase. We might just look into a center, because $400 a week is more then I budgeted for, especially since we had to change formulas and it is soo expensive!

i pay a women $60 a day, for one day a week. She will watch my DS, a little girl and then has her son who is 2 1/2

I just actually placed my son on a wait-list to a very good daycare in our neighborhood and their monthly charge based on a 40 hour week is appx $1000...DS is 4 months old and we're looking to start him in daycare when he is 1.5-2 years...so we have some time to start saving that $$

I never used daycare but my girlfriend did and she told me she paid around $1200 a month at Tudor Time. Her Daughter is 6 now so I do not know if the price went up.

Infant $290 for 5 days per week 6:30am-7pm (no extended hours)
$265 for 3 days per week. Same hours.

DH and I just started looking into daycare ourselves. So far we are finding places ranging from $1100 - $1350 per month

We live in Levittown and are looking in the area, as well as the surrounding towns (Bellmore, Wantagh, Hicksville, East Meadow, Westbury, and Farmingdale).

I live in Levittown as well. When I was working we put my dd in the Hicksville Kiddie Academy on West John Street (sort of behind Broadway Mall). At that time (about 4 years ago I paid 250.00 week). My SIL who also lives in Levittown used the Tutor Time on Hempstead Tpke (across from Baily's) and was paying 262.00 a week.
I also know there is a place on Wantagh Avenue, I think it is called Rainbow Room or something like that.
You might want to also try contacting Nassau County Child care and they can give you a list of people who are licensed to watch children if you want to go that route.
