At what age is appropriate to pierce ears?????
My DD is only 3 weeks so im not doing it any time soon but i want to in the future and just didnt know if it better to do it younger so they dont pull on them and it is easier to keep clean or wait till they are older.
what are your opinions? and who does it ? do you go somewhere or does the ped do it ???

IMHO, the younger the better so they do not mess with them
I pierced mikayla's ears at 3.5 months, she has had no problems with them and I have no regrets

ITA except DD was 4.5 months.
That's when my ped would do it. They want children to have 2 tetanus shots before piercing their ears.

I have no opinion on it, but we're waiting till DD starts kindergarten (she's 4 now)...it's going to be her "gift"...
we will have our pediatrician do it...

I decided to wait until my DDs were older. When she was almost 5 she decided she wanted them.
She barely cried when they were pierced. She never touched them, and helped to take care of them (she twisted them and I cleaned them). It was a great experience. She was SO EXCITED picking out her earrings, and showing them off to everybody. I also think its good because if they started the irritate her she could tell me, when a baby couldn't.
My younger DD who is 3 wants them done for Christmas so I'll be taking her soon.

ITA.
I got both my girls ears done the day they got their 2 month shots. Kaitee was a few days shy of 2 months old and Brooke was 2 1/2 months old.

I think that as long as they have their shots, it's complete preference. My only worry is that somehow she would get them off and eat them.

My only worry is that somehow she would get them off and eat them.
I thought about this too but you know what?: they are tiny and I am sure even if she DID swallow them, nothing would happen

DD is going in 2 weeks she will be just over 5 months.
She lost her hair and I HATE the boy comments...I heard it is better to it while they are young...I remember the pain I had when I was five years old, just a regular shot for them with some discomfort...I am excited she is getting them!!

Sydnie will be getting hers by 4 months. That's whenmy ped will do them but I am hoping he'll do them a little early so they can be done for the Holidays. She'll be 4 months Dec 29th.
